Rosso: Just to clarify before I get into it, the manifold in your attached picture should have two downpipes but because it's one manifold that combines the four exhaust ports into one common outlet, I'll call it a four into one. I'm pretty sure the following info is correct, if not, I know someone will correct me. It goes like this.
ALL US Alfetta's came with the very poor performing 4 into one exhaust manifold as illustrated in the picture you provided. My '79 GTV Sprint Veloce had one and I've never seen anything different sent to the USA from the factory on GTV's, Sports Sedans, Alfetta Sedans, etc. Apparently this was an emissions issue although exactly how a really crappy exhaust manifold like that helped with emissions is beyond me (probably something to do with exhaust gas temps). I never made the comparison, so I'll stand corrected, but it could be the same as the 4 into 1 manifiold that was fitted to the Bosch injected Spiders sold in the US from '82 through '89 (I think late '89 was when the first Motronic Spiders came out, very limited numbers before the series 4 spider was released. All series 4 cars had Motronic FI, they also had the early style 4 into 2 exhaust manifolds as supplied on the 105 series cars).
I believe all 4 cylinder transaxle cars for the rest of the world received the two piece 4 into 2 exhaust manifolds which looked very much like what you'll be used to seeing on the 105 series cars. If you look at some of the aftermarket parts catalogs you'll see that many of them offer the "euro downpipe" for the Alfetta's which has one pipe in front of and one pipe behind the front crossmember. The US exhaust manifold had the downpipes routed behind the crossmember. I seem to remember that the Euro setup (standard Euro exhaust manifolds and downpipe) was good for an additional 5 or 6 HP on Spica injected cars with no other mods and would flow well enough to make mild cams and other mods worthwhile. Anything much beyond that required the use of headers to get the ful benefit. Let me know if you want a set of the Euro items, they seem to be pretty available here in Oz.
Best regards, Rick.
