Horn Problem

Hey wondering if anyone has had their horn not work before due to no earth on the steering shaft and wheel?? horn works fine with ignition off (good old steer lock providing earth) but no go with key on,

Car is a 2000 Sedan

Make sure that you haven't lost the small wire that is at the small u-joint on the steering column in the engine comartment. These will sometimes come undone and that is the wire you need to make the horn honk. I believe it is a ground. The column has a rubber damper in it and that damper isolates the column from ground. Tell us if this works.

Awsome, i knew someone had this problem before, and it was getting dark by the time i needed to start looking for earths, wire was still in place but had broken off at one end, tho looked like someone had done a dodgy repair in the past (dont we hate that!!) Made a new lead up with some crimp terminals and screwed it on and bingo, nice happy alfa horn to honk
