Thumbs up 1978 Ivory Sport Sedan

Bought this from a fellow BBer a few months ago, runs like a champ , Its now time to take it apart and restore it , has very few rust issues around the rear windshield and a few small spots at the bottom of the doors, I will throw in an A/C redo the interior and dash. The car is super straight and still has the original paint.

That's a stunning Sport Sedan - apart from the windshield rust, the bodywork is in unbelievable shape. From Pat Braden's comments on the Sport Sedan's tendency to rust, maybe you should contact the Alfa museum, it might be the only one left in such good condition!

Update !

So the sedan is almost done, it is now at the upholstery shop , here are some picks of the prep process, can't believe I'm at this stage in a very short time!

The front and rear windshield rubber was the hardest thing to get and digest price wise!

You are truly blessed to have found an Alfetta sedan with so little rust issues. Now that you have taken the steps to cure what ails these cars, you will have alot of many happy miles. These are wonderful cars to drive. The best A/C I have ever had on a car was in my '79 sedan. I see you showing this car once you get the rest of the car up to par with the paint and interior.

It looks real nice Manuel and a great color!! I say bring it to Euro spec.

Seems AR rated this car sold in europe at 140 HP stock. I would like to get a complte detail of the exact engine diffrences for you. I will research.

Keep in mind - he's somewhere in CA and the car is a '78 - meaning he still has to go through bi-annual (for now - may change to annual in the near future) smog certification. Unfortunately, there is only so much you can legally do to these cars in this state while still getting them to pass our emissions test. That's why I now own a '75 - it's the cut-off year for smog, so I only have to worry about the '79 making it through the testing.

sedans rock!

Hey guys thanx for the kind words , the car is a US spec spica injected with all the smog stuff , passes with no trouble . I will make it as nice as possible , keeping in mind $$$$$ These cars are getting to be rare and prices should start to move a little , a restored (when finished ) specimen like this one will never bring the $$$$ spent , but who cares , I love this car ...

My quattroporte does 8 miles/gallon so the alfetta 4 porte will be the DD car...

So what I want to know is, why the heck does California not slide the scale for emissions? 25 years and younger is Washington...which means anything older than 1982 doesn't need emissions testing. Next year it's 1983, etc.

I can't understand what advantage California has for enforcing emissions requirements on a 1976 Lancia Beta Scorpion (just an example) with problematic air injection and stuff.
