You have a real beauty. Never seen a 1600, don't think it could be registered in California. But i now know where the cam cover i got with a 1600 i put in my 61 sprint came from. It is unknown on US cars.

I am "restoring" one as an ITB class race car. Why? Well, as you know, it is a cool car, and I happened to have a really ratty one sitting around, and I wanted a race car, and so I said, "what the hell?" Osso may remember this one as my (ex)wife's daily driver from the mid 90's. The Sport Sedan's ITB race weight is a bit high at 2600 lbs but the transaxle platform handles so well that it should be quick enough for a good time. I look at it as "training wheels" for racing. The car still looks really ratty, but mechanically it is completely new. I have a few photos attached. I've done some autocrossing in it, but wanted a cage (or at least a roll bar) before I took it to something relatively fast like TWS. I am currently building the cage. Man, what a job!
I hope you Sedan fans will cheer me on once I finally get 'er on the track!

Just kidding. Nice work.

I seriously don't think anyone could pay me enough to build them a cage. It is such a pain. And particularly after surfing the web looking for ideas, I ran across this guy in St. Louis:
Izzy's Custom Cages
I don't know anything about him other than this site, but for some of the pricing he states, I think it would be worth it to relieve oneself of the cage-building chore! But at least I'll have the satisfaction of knowing I did it myself. Which is why we do some of these things in the first place, I guess.

I've had four 164's and an S4 spider, but always liked these sedans. I am happy that there are those keeping them going!

Yes, I remember Anna's car. It still looks pretty good! Get rid of the bumpers and you'll shed 100 lbs. If you feel that you need some bumpers, you could try and track down some European ones....for a hefty price, I am sure. Hey, I PM'd you so we can get in touch.

A couple more shots of my project. Check out the rocker panels - they make me giggle. Also dry fitted my NOS taillamp chrome and NOS lenses (thank you, eBay for inexpensive Alfetta stuff). SPICA hardware is coming along nicely, too.

It's crazy 65 degrees in Dee-troit tonight so I thought I would take the opportunity to scrub and power wash the wheel wells. A little Simple Green, scrub, blast and they look spanking. All original paint still present and accounted for.

Alfetta sheet metal in Mass
Hey Alfetta guys,
I think I poked my head in here a few months ago. I've had many Alfettas, Sedans and Coupes (I've still got a couple of coupes).
Anyhow, I'm sitting on a bunch of Alfetta Sedan doors, trunk lids, and hoods (early and late style). Some are in pretty good shape, others are rusted (but the rusted doors have window mechanisms, glass, etc in them).
I'd love to get rid of this stuff, and I don't want anything for it, other than for it to go to a good home. I'd rather not deal with shipping, but I could bring it to the convention this coming year if anybody is interested (but I hope it's gone before then!).
Let me know if you're interested, I'm located in Boxborough, Mass.

Hood and decklid returned from painter yesterday. Beginning to wake the NOS parts out of their slumber. Here we have the NOS handles, trunk cylinder (with matched key set) and window regulator.

Here Here (or is it hear hear ?).
For the Aussies, did I mention I have a lot of small '76 Alfetta items on Aussie Ebay at present ?
I also have a couple of boxes of miscellaneous stuff that I haven't listed. So if you need a badge, trim or engine part, even a special bolt, give me a hoy as I may be able to help out.
The lot is going to landfill in a few weeks, so don't be embarrassed to PM me for that elusive item.
I don't have any panels, seats or large items, sorry.
I love the photo of the red Alfetta panels sitting on that cream leather

Guys; fantastic to see some proper Alfa Romeos being restored. The 1600-1800 Alfetta saloons (sedans ) were such great cars. When I worked at an Alfa Romeo agent here in the UK in 84-5 we had a beige 1973 1800 as a works 'hack' which took such terrible abuse. It's hard to explain just how badly they rusted out in the UK climate but most were scrapped within 6 years. They absolutely fell apart and the GTV Alfetta Coupes were probably worse. The earler Giuliettas were awful for rust too - again, with 5 years they were absolutely rotten. Indeed, our second hack after the 1800 Alfetta was scrapped was a 1980 1.8 Giulietta which at 5 years old was finished.
They are so rare now (I haven't seen on in the UK for around 20 years) that anything that can be saved, should be. But get rid of the Spica injection - it really was (is) crap. If you can't go back to carburettors and a proper compression ratio, I'd fit a 75 2.0TS engine with the Bosch Motronic.
But nice work. That red one will be fantastic - a pity there are none left over here to save.
