I've been working on this 73 alfetta for a couple of months now, here are some pics:
Here's one of the interior after I stripped the dash of the wood inserts. I'm redoing the wood inserts by hand with new wood trim.
I haven't installed the pieces yet since I'm planning on fixing the dash, but this gives an idea of how it will look:
Also need to do some body work besides fixing dash and some rips in seats.

Well i have this blue 1978 berlina 1800,which needs some minor bodywork.
I intend to use the white 1976 berlina 1600 as a donor car (it has a very good and orginal interior+bumpers).
I also have a brand new dash and gauges.
I don't know yet.I don't think that (financially) is a smart decision,to start a restoration.
Anyway berline (with steel bumpers 1973-1980)are quite rare even in Italy these days. You have to pay more than 5000 euros for a decent example.
What would you suggest?
Something like the last photo wouldn't be very tempting?

Buy a good example from Italy.Add 1000 euros for travel expences and thats it.You will end with an original car, ready to enjoy it.
DONT START A RESTORATION.IT WILL TAKE AGES.
Happy New Year.

My beloved Sport Sedan is patiently waiting for me to do a bit of restoration on it. It's in overall good shape but I'd love to restore it to it's former, original glory. Unfortunately, I'm very tight on space in the garage and I'm getting unpleasant looks from my wife because she's unable to park in the garage anymore. The current 3 degree weather has not helped the situation. I pretty much need to act on the car or let it go. (of course, I've been saying this for years!)

Here's mine---an older restoration, currently resting in a garage up north until after this year's wedding and associated expenses, when we'll pull her back out, rebuild the engine (leaky head gasket), and do a nice repaint (same color). A little bubbling is starting to appear around the rear glass, so I want to attack it now before it gets out of hand. The first three pics were taken before the custom seats covers were put on.

I finally see alfettas that look like mine, i have a 1979 white one, it's the real deal i got it from the original owner who got it in italy, it's also real rusty i'm not quite sure i'll be able to restore it as i cant get many of the parts here in central america. I'm planning on getting rid of the rust and leave the interior for later if ever.
Beautiful cars you guys have, i hope to get mine up to par soon.
BTW GTV116, if you're not going to use the front grill, tail lights or the mirrors from the white one i'm quite interested.

Craig and Stacy - Nice cars both. I really like that nose / grille / light treatment compared to the owl-eyed look of the big trim rings.
Does anyone have shots of this version with the euro / rectangular lights? I don't know how common they were, and we certainly didn't get them in the US.
Thanks-

Thanks. I too like the non-chrome headlights on the Sport Sedans; it's a bit more subtle I guess.
The square headlights can be seen in the "Pictures of Alfetta's" thread in the picture room:

(page 3 if the link doesn't work well.)

I've always thought the 78 and newer looked a little bit too much like BMWs for my liking. I think the chrome rings add a little more nostalgia to the Fettas.

I'd rather say that the BMW's look like our Alfettas....
