I'm very , very intrested in that Autodelta copy .........
I also heard some prices from parts that Luigi Racing ( crossmember with regulators for torsions and lower A-arms ) used on their cars and I aggree with you , very expensive .

It sure make sence , using this tube in Ergal would give a better unsprung weight ( correct me if I'm wrong ) but would it cope with the constraints ?

It was a long time ago when Peter Oberndoerfer ran the "lui" GTV6 and Lella Lombardi was also driving for Alfa. I don't know where the list currently is but if it is still around in some boxes I'll remember to make a copy for you.

Thanks for the translation, GTV 2000, you really filled out the nuances in the text for us!

When the Lockheed brakes were mentioned on this car I immediately thought about the installation on the GTV6 racer. On this car it´s at two caliper so called balanced brake system which they brought from formula 1 application. However the GTV6 is a much later car and I thought something different was used on the early GTV8. But as Allegerita tells us it seems to be the same system on the GTV8 also. As we have an original GTV6 racer in Norway(and I know the owner) I have first hand experience with this brake system. Balanced calipers in front and 4 pot calipers rear with ventillated discs all around.

GTV 116:
I have asked the same question to Manfred about the identity of the test car in the article and he was convinced that it is the same car in early stage of development. It is not unlikely that they reworked the interior to distance it a little bit from the factory model.
Our GTV8 project was a joint venture on a friends car. We actually got the engine to fit in the car (Alfetta GTV2000). It worked very well, still 200Hp and Spica. We tried it on drag strip against Montreals and GTVs and it could hold its own very well. At the same time I bought a new GTV6 and the first thing we tried is to compare these two. Sorry to say but the GTV6 had no chance to keep up.. Of course I still would like to have one even today.

About Ergal: I also have a GTV6 Gr.A parts catalog in german. Here Ergal is mentioned in the front only: Traverse in Ergal. In the rear is only mentioned: De dion spezialausführung, probably the special is the camber(?)

Just for the record: Manfred is a great fan of the old cars and established a company which is producing the old racing parts for the GTVs, which many wish to have on their cars. These parts are now available again. Like the hight adjustable aluminium traverse (not Ergal, but light and strong anyway). Also he offers the rear de Dion axle with adjustable camber and outboard brakes! He is also working with alu front lower wishbone as on the GTV6 racers.

These are some pictures from the ex-Obendorfer GTV6 with a clear view on the rear brakes ( I had to crawl underneath the car for these pics ), taken at the Zolder circuit last year .

Gabor , please tell me more about the original GTV6 racer that is in Norway .
I know of one GTV6 that was rallyed by Luigi Racing and later was sold to a Dutsch named Rom Van Vlimmeren who turned it into a circuitracer .
I've spoken to Van Vlimmeren and he said that the car afterwards was sold to a Norwegian but can't remember his name ............ dead end for me .

The AP brakes on the Norwegian car are pointing rearwards instead of downwards as on this car. Same strap also.

Interesting that you are looking probably for this car. The owner also tries to find previous owners and the story of the car! He has been owner of the car since it was imported and had heard at that time that it was a Luigi car even driven by Lella Lombardi! Indeed the interior is yellow, while the exterior is white. We have done a lot of speculating of what kind of racing the car has been used for, and it seems to be rally, not exactly the right use of this car in my opinion! Of course I am not quite sure that this is the car you are loking for, as two other cars were also imported from Luigi and used for rallycross! These were later reexported, so this one is the only one left in Norway. The car is white and had originally the logo of Auto Leeba, Den Haag everywhere on the car. If this is the car you are looking for I am very interested to hear its story as you probably are about the story here.

As it seems I am unable to show any photos here because I dont have a homepage, you could mail me your mail adress and I could send you some photos!

I think Ron Simmons (Holland) run's a ex- luigi GTV6 but i think he changed i through the years.

For the Saurbier GTV8; Karel Saurbier lives in Holland and owns a couple of GTA, GTA-Junior racecars, 155 GTA. The GTV8 has 2 brake-calipers per brakedisc in the back. I believe the build up a bmw injectionsystem on it to make it run. It is serviced by Teuling tuning in holland

The 700 Hp Australian GTV8: many race wins

http://www.btinternet.com/~bruce.mclaren4/gtv6.html

Admittedly it has a Chevy V8 engine but it´s still interesting that it could compete against newer cars! Maybe only the badge was Alfa, the rest is race-tech.

I found this car posted for sale on rallycarsforsale.net
Apparently the car is in Greece.

http://www.rallycarsforsale.net/clas...tails&id=14323

Looks to be a full-spec group A car and the ad lists many parts that the Luigi cars had. Thought I'd post these photos from the ad because it seems like there is a scarcity of photo documentation of these cars on the web.

Anyone know anything more about this car?

Do you know when they are planning to enter the Classic Adelaide? I am possibly marshalling for it this year and it would be a highlight to see this car.

OZ: Sorry but that is the only info I have come over concerning an Australian GTV8 2,6. Maybe others from the area can fill out with more info?

When searching for an Australian GTV8 I came over the GTV8 6.0 from the Perth area but nothing about car mentioned in the Montreal Info pages.
