Playboy GTV6
Dad found this GTV6 while looking back on some old magazines before my time. 1983 october november edetion of Street Machine.
at the time it was owned by Rod Luck, editor for the motoring section of Australian Playboy. The article mentions that it is one of only two ever painted metalic black from the factory, the other one was improted to australia aswell but for the 'Play-mate of the year' award.
on the out side its got a few laser cut badges above the grill and side indicators and on the rear side windows, a 'nightrider' custom front spoiler, yokohama a008 treds [2\3 treded and 1\3 slick on the outside] and compomotive 2piece CX500, and a acrylic sunroof inssert with graduated tinting.
the interior has recaro mesh head seats and the same mesh heads adapted for the rear seats [think holden commodore SL E]. Momo 'Mystere' wheel, Eurovox Mcc2001 Quad-channel Stereo and a Sharp 6x6" full color TV
the grill is my fav. from what i understand its just 2 long black perspex covers with slots cut in for air to reach the engine. they also mention a set for production with clear sections for the head lights.
the car was lowered for the photo but raised afterwards so it only sits 3\4" lower than stock [note the high rearend]
the mags are 15" and have vented 4pots hiding behind them.
has anyone got anymore photos of the car or ever more info about it and where it is as i havent found anything on the net about it.

I don't see a GTV6 in the picture. Please repost a bigger version perhaps?

Alfas were part of the prize pack for a few Australian Playmate of the Year recipients.
Along similar lines was a white GTV6 called the Andalucia GTV6.
If you contact Aust Playboy Magazine they can probably supply a better pic.

I remember seeing a red 83 "Playboy" GTV6 complete with playmate at the 1983 Motor Club Show in Sydney, think I even got a sticker ...
Australian Playboy was part of ACP (the Packer empire) but has been defunct for some years. Not sure if Rob Luck is around (his son Nathan is a writer) but I don't they would be much help either. I can't see it having four spot calipers though, probably just the standard Brembo twin spots
I do know the owner of Andalusia - its a road register race car with a very hot 3 Litre. Still has most of the original interior but Ronal wheels instead of the Compomotives.

Does anyone have a pic of the Andalusia???
I have heard about it a few times but cannot find a pic of it...
I always cringe when i see a souped up Mitsubishi Lancer drive by with a hot pink Playboy logo in the back window.... well i guess the GTV6 was the original after all

Well, if you head out to Oran Park for the MG Sporting Cars Festival this weekend, you will see the Andalusia "live and racing!" Plus you can take your own pics!
You can't ask for better than that.....

Andalusia one-only machine as made for and shown at the 1984 Sydney motor show .The stark white Alfa which got its name from the dancing white horse in my opinion was to white with no engine improvements at all here's what it had.
Wider section white centered compomotive show wheels, white enamel door handles, fuel filler cap, white enamel triangular rear vents aswell as getting a heavier (white) rub strip along the sides. The car was fitted with a different nose cone white transluscent and was drilled out presumably to help air flow to the radiator, different rear filler panel between th tail lights ,tinted windows .Inside the front seats were Recaro Txs trimmrd like the rest of the seating in leather and colored in light grey,Momo Pininfarina wheel, timmed in two tones of grey and white with matching Momo gear knob.topline Eurovox stereo with seperate headphones for the rear passengers and a super snooper.
Mechanically apart from the lowered and rerated suspension a little recalibration of the fuel injection system the GTV6 was stock. The Andalusia showed no improvement when put up against the stopwatch .
John.

Thanks for scanning that Beatle. That would have been one hot street machine back in the 80's, it would have stopped traffic!
Have you sold the GTV6 yet?
