Hi All,

Well, this was a short relationship. Soon to be up for sale is my 76' Alfetta that I purchased from Bill Conway of Pennsylvania/long time Alfa club member, enthusiast and collector. I have had the car about 4 months but a job change means I need to simplify. 33K original miles, original paint, and original unmolested interior. No accidents, no rust. I'll let the photos speak for themselves. I'm in Southern California but the car wears Washington tags; The car runs so well, I didn't have the heart to detune the car to pass smog. I didn't want to add non original smog equipment to this 49 state car either. I have added new rear rotors and pads but it needs a head gasket. I paid 11k and yes, a premium for an Alfetta. I'm hoping to get the same price. Thanks for your interest - John

Beautiful condition, almost showroom. Hope it doesn't go back east where it will rust to pieces, as our 75 Alfetta sedan started doing when we lived in DC for a couple of years. Big mistake. Those years, 75,76, and 77 (?) used the crappy steel which rusted for all Italian (read Fiat, Ferrari, Lancia, Alfa) cars. Our 78 had no rust in 180k miles out here. Most other car found out here also have very little rust if any, except where Alfa used dissimilar metals side by side to get that wonderful galvanic effect, local corrosion. However, almost nothing stops the rust bugs back east.

Once again, beautiful car. Reminds me of our metallic maroon 78 Alfetta GT we had for a short while, having bought it at Chris Hanberger dealership in College Park, Maryland, and drove it out to Seattle. Wonder where it is now. Got it cheap as new because it had NO a/c installed, a big no no back there.

Raise the Price!

Don't lower the price, raise it! And post it for sale outside this community as well. These are rare cars and this is a special one. Try consignment or buying service or other types of sales for instance Hyman, Fantasy Junction etc. How many of this model, this nice are still out there in the United States, 10?, 20? The owners of these 2 litre cars need to step up now, beyond the common bargain hunting league to full rare classic, collectible status.

Yeah, and, I'm not by any means disinterested, I own a nice one too.

+1 the above...

In the UK there is a showroom spec 1978 2.0 GTV for sale with around 10k miles on the clock. I think the dealer is asking around the US$15k mark. Your asking price seems to be reasonable but I guess the local market dictates this to an extent.

To anyone who says you're dreaming asking that much... find a rough one and get it to this level of presentation. Chances are you'll give up... I did.

I would get the head gasket fixed before selling though. You don't want to give potential buyers a reason to beat you down on price.

My 2c worth. Good luck with the sale.

Cool car and a close twin of my own...

Looks great - good luck with the sale. Seems that $11K is a bargain when you consider the condition and seriously, think of all the boring cars out there you could buy for $11k compared to this jewel.

I think this car deserves a post on BringaTrailer.com!

Stunning quality care and very rare. Love colour and overall impression, and for 11 certainly not overpriced, in contrary...in a few years you would have wished you would have bought this for 11.
