HI TSpark. I think you'll find the reason you've never seen one is because it was only a design exercise. Alfa went through the same thing with the 75/Milano and even though I haven't seen a picture of it for a long time, I seem to remember it had very similar proportions in the rear, especially around the side windows. As far as Alfa's and station wagons go I'm pretty sure they did a 33 wagon, and there were the Berlina station wagon/ambulances/service vehicles that I think were for the Italian market only. Other than that the only other Alfa wagon I've seen was a 164 done many years ago by Tom Zat of Alfa Heaven fame in the USA. It was a combination of a 164 and a Ford Taurus wagon, strangely it didn't look too bad.
I may have missed out on something, I'm no station wagon expert so others may chime in with more accurate info.
Cheers, Rick.

Clear Giugiaro influence - I see VW Dasher / Audi Fox lines there.

Yes, there was an estate version from the 33 (both pre- and post-facelift versions) and don't forget the (three-door) Alfasud wagon, or "Giardinetta".
I think they made a station wagon prototype from the (transaxle) Giulietta too.

That's just awesome that the car still exists and is being shown. Usually these cars are lost to the ages. Nice!

The photo I've seen of the 75 Sportswagon is spectacular - such a shame it didn't make it into production!

I suspect the car was coachbuilt by Zagato, but not designed by them. Much like the Lancia beta "Zagato" which was designed by pininfarina, and built by Zagato. The car has the same front sheetmetal as the production sedan, which was designed by Alfa's Centro Stile.
