Have you been in contact with Beninca? The Turboed 2L is their speciality. The place to ask. Getting photos could be harder, but you will get advice

Brad, Joseph beninca has not done one of these cars for years, but will give you good advice. they did cars properly and wanted to charge me 700 plus postage and exchange just to put oil squirters in the bock. they wont do the distriutor but might do some carbies if you ask nicely, they will cost you though. the origional turbodelta plenium doesnt look much like that picture. Im fiughting with my camera atm (thats why no pics) but i will soon.
I also have details of someone in italy who has various origional turbodelta mechanicals.... but the euro exchange is crapola and everythingi buy from italy seems to be suffering from serious inflation atm. and he did have both the origional plenium and exhaust manifold. cant remember the price on the plenium but the manifold was Euro 1800 plus postage, worked out at over 3000aud. The origional pleniums i have seen have a strange intake connection. i do have photos i will try finfd them for you...

I have some photos, but probably not the details asked for here. Well I will try and we will see. One photo is from a 2L Turbodelta Giulietta installed in an Alfetta GT. And then a factory engine photo.

brad, checked a few things, that is one type of plenium for the durbodelta, i had a look at my first try at one, basically i welded a plate over the end of the existing airbox cover (to look authentic) and tried just replacing it over the stock attachment tothe carbs. the result was boost leaking at the seal. but given most cars ran without a front intercooler, maybe sealing bolts from the inside to attach the carbs and then welding the top filter cover to the base would give you more factory look, that way the intake is pointed to the front for the cooler. mine doesnt lok close to standard unfortunatly. if your phone can accept pic msgs, msg me on 0402290202 and il msg some pics

The differences where:

- other piston
- other camshafts
- exhaust with lower back pressure
- clutch reinforced

At the moment i have a problem with the headgasket of the Turbodelta. Last week i found a original headgasket set for the Turbodelta. Also the headgasket is very different. It is based on 'Schneidringe' (i don't know the word in english)! I'll post some pics this evening if its intressting...

Brad

The fact sheet is the official data from Alfa Romeo for the factory group 4rally car. Part of a press release of Alfa´s 1980 sport activities. Data is the standing in 1980. That is full race rally car.

I have also a fact sheet from a recent article about the Turbodelta rally referring to owners much bigger (maybe inflated) power figures. The above is the figures given from the factory.

the spec sheet is interesting, i always thought the gr4 turbo deltas ran on 15inch rather than the gtam like 13 inch wheels found on the early alfetta gt rally cars.

thanx for posting
