The later cars were much better built than the earlier cars and had nicer interiors, so a late GTV6 with the look of an early euro Alfetta would be my favorite. There is currently a GTV6 on ebay that has been converted to a euro Alfetta look.

Alfa Romeo:eBay Motors (item 230349747990 end time Jun-23-09 12:02:45 PDT)

I like the look although there are some spots that need some work (front valance looks unfinished). The Ronals are a nice touch.

On Sunday's take "her indoors" for a cruise & lunch. A great little package with about 150 hp & about 1000kgs.

If Alfa ever got around to making the ultimate Alfetta they would still be making them today
She's looking good Paul! I bet she's a blast to drive.

Exactly! Plasticbumper or metalbumper .... the car looks its best without bumper!

My Ultimate Alfetta is a Turbodelta Gp. 4

I'm planning to build a replica, so currently I'm searching for the correct bits.

Regards, Alvaro.

Hi Alvaro,
Are you now building two replicas? The Loubet V6 rally car and the Turbodelta Group4 car? Or have you given up on the Loubet replica?

The Turbodelta Gr. 4 body parts have been recreated and sold by a company in Germany if you are looking for a source.

Why not go all the way and make an Autodelta GTV8 replica, while you are into it?
I have an engine waiting for my own project.....may never happen, but then it might with 3L and digital injection. That would be my ultimate GTV.
Some photos of the 2 cars they made.

Alvaro and Gabor,
I agree, the rally replicas are a nice way to go. I just found this Grp2 replica posted for sale in Greece. It looks interesting. See the video link.

Yes both replicas are being built.

My priority now is to build the Turbodelta replica on my 78 Alfetta, and have it finished to the end of this year. I use this car as historic rally racer, and I'm fed up about having basicaly a street car with roll cage.... I think cars must be strict stock as build from factory or fully in racing trim... better if they are replicating a historic works racer or any other famous period racer.

The Loubet replica is now in a halt. This project is a long term build up, for 1 or 2 years. I have the body completely stripped and ready to be sean welded and to fit a roll cage.

May be I'm involved in too much projects... .... must finish my new home this summer, I'm helping Luis to restore his 75 Turbo Evoluzione racer (http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/mila...storation.html), I'm helping to rebuild the engine of a 78 Spider (http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/spid...00-veloce.html), then the Turbodelta, then the Loubet (http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/alfe...t-replica.html).... and a couple of nice ideas some people here would like vey much.

Yes, Bianchi & Koop. I've contacted them (and other sources) but prices are very high, extremely high. I know Turbodeltas Gp.4 are rare cars, not like Escorts, and parts are scarce and expensive to produce in short numbers, but asking 800 euros for a wheelarch set is mad.

I'have located sources for all the bits, the most difficult ones being the Campagnolo wheels, so in a month or so, (as soon as I get finished a current 2000 Spider engine rebuild), the work on the Turbodelta will start.

The previous owner of my Alfetta wanted to build a V8 with it, but locating a V8 it's a very difficult task... but if you have it now.... THE MOST DIFFICULT TASK IS CLEARED!!!

Go for it, it's a nice project and a beautiful car!!

Regards, Alvaro.

Alvaro, I am impressed with all your projects. Can´t understand you have the time...

I have done the GTV8 before and have the idea of how to do it. Manfred Kopp of Bianchi and Kopp has made one also and I have done a test drive of that car. Just wonderful. And yes the V8 engine is ready to be started on, when I am. But first I have to put a 3,2 GTA engine into my racer.

You can find a couple of photos from my previous GTV8 project in this link

I think the 1984-85 Luigi and Jolly club FIA touring GTV6's are the ultimate
Alfetta GTV's. They won alot of races and the FIA touring car championship
from 1982-1985. They also looked and sounded great. No 4 cylinder Alfa GTV ever screamed like a fully race prepared Alfa V6 2.5!, I know atleast 1 of the Luigi cars and 2 of the Jolly club cars were destroyed when racing back in the 1980's.

The GTV8 didnt do very well at all in racing.

The production GTV6 3.0's from South Africa are the ultimate production Alfa GTV6's.
The Callaway GTV6 twin turbo is second since it was not done directly at the factory(modified
after coming to the USA by Callaway) like the GTV6 3.0's.

Well a highly personal opinion. You seem to forget that judging exclusivity by price the cars command at auctions, the GTV8 and the Turbodelta Gr. 4 cars command by far the highest prices. For the prices they command you can buy a dozen GTV6 or GTV4. The SA GTV6 3L or the Callaway are not in this league at all. We are more talking close to the exclusivity of the Tipo 33. Then forgetting the judging by price, the GTV8 was with its 340Hp V8 engine really the top of the 116 transaxle line - nothing above it, period!
