Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV6 1980-1987 Worldwide Registry Thread

Several GTV6 owners decided to start a Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV6 world thread as the cars are becoming classics and getting rare. We want to list world production owners for both the 2.5 and 3.0 models.
We also want to list all factory "speciale editions" owners and figures.

The Alfa Alfetta GTV6 was produced in smaller numbers than both the GTV 1750 and GTV 2000 Bertone. They also had a great racing record in Europe, Australia and South Africa among others. Luigi Racing and Jolly Club were the main teams in the FIA European Touring Championship.

You can and should post a photo of your car if you have one.

Lets start with my two GTV6's:

Alfa Romeo GTV6 2.5 1982 "Ballocco #210 of 350" ZARAA6690C1004208 built 4/1982 Rosso AR530

Alfa Romeo GTV6 2.5 1983 ZARAA669001003089 Built 12/1982
Silver AR

Here are 2 photos of the 1983:

Some of the GTV6's in my shop. Just out of sight on the left is a Balocco that I finished and sent to its owner last week. Until last week, I had 3 Balocco's, 1 parts car, 1 went to new owner and Lenard is storing one for me. Also have 1 slightly whacked Maratona. I have 12 parts GTV6's as well. Always a hard decision to part one out, if I had more indoor room, I would spray oil on the rust and store them all. Someday people will even buy rusty ones to restore.

Wow, heavymetalalfa! That looks like the West Sububan Alfa used car section back in the 1980's. They always had 5 or 6 used GTV6's in stock
with around 36,000 miles(just off warranty). It was the largest U.S. Alfa dealer at the time. I saw as many as 10 new GTV6's at the dealer at one time along with even more new Spiders!

I will update the main page as we go along with the # VIN numbers.
Please do not forget to give #VIN and build date information along the
color. Any other information would be also most welcome.
My cars both have under 35,000 miles. My silver car was bought new from Lake Forest Sportcars. They bought out the inventory of a Detroit Ferrari/Alfa dealer in 1983. It included 2 Alfa GTV6's. Peter Suttle, a Ferrari/Maserati collector bought my 1983 GTV6 from them in early 1984 and had them modify it new with Shankle cams, torsion bars and springs along with Shankle headers. I purchased the car in 1986 and I am the second owner. I bought my Ballocco(#210) from Georgia back in 1990. The car came from another Detroit Alfa dealer. I also own several other older Alfa's.

Great idea. What are your plans for this? Is there any other Alfetta GTV registry in production?

It needs to go into a database like the Milano registry and many other model specific sites. Without that it will die and never be used beyind the initial rush.

The ability to trace prior history and maybe answer 'where is it now' questions are useful features.

That is so sick, heavymetal! Man. I'd be going out to the garage every 5 minutes just to look at them (of course, being anal, I'd have to wax them all so they look shiny, even the parts cars).

That is so cool.

I will post my info shortly, thanks.

edit: by the way, HM, that's not a "shop" or a "garage" - it's a friggin' hanger! You got yourself a hangerfullaGTVsixes!

Heat?? We don't need no stinking heat !! We're Mainers here, we're used to being cold !! Actually, I plan to demise 3 bays to be heated next winter..

And yes, GrandPrix, I do sometimes sit in my lawn chair at the end of a day and just stare at the beauties !!!

I wonder, should I document all the parts cars as well as the restorables I've got?? I've spent a lot of effort rescuing GTV6's over the last 10 years. Should there be a part of the registry for parted cars ??

I feel very lucky, having gotten the chance to drive many GTV6's. I've found that they all feel a little bit different. Besides my daily driver, I usually have the car I'm restoring on the road to "test drive" "work the bugs out" or just drive. I recently drove 3 different GTV6's in a day, and they all felt distinctly different !!

Below is a photo of my favorite one, my daily driver for 5 years now, paid $500 to save it from the crusher. Came fully lowered, some performance mods and those great wheels !!. I've put over 100,000 miles on it, it has approx 250,000 miles total. I patch the new rust every year and she just screams along.
