It might seem like a little item, but a) we don't know how long it's been on there, 2) we don't know how it's going to handle brake fluid over the long haul, and 3) it would drain about half your brake master cylinder if it failed, as well as bring air into your clutch circuit (making it really tough to shift...).

It's not worth the risk, if you ask me!

No, I agree! Having had this confirmed I'm obviously going to change it. I just wasn't initially sure whether it was meant to be like that or not. Further internet research found somebody with the same brand and model brake hose linking their two master cylinders, and they found it sweated fluid after a while - not good!

I've put new stainless braided brake hoses on the car so will cut a length of one of the standard brake hoses that came off the car to link the two reservoirs, in the short term at least.

Lol had no idea that brake hoses were only 2mm ID... NO way is that going to fit! So for now it's back to a (heavy duty at least) section of fuel line...

No, but it looks like an easier solution to the problem than the one I found - definitely worth a try in my opinion.

That's the part I use right there! Didn't know the name of it EZ-Coil. This works just fine.
