Oh, the article was just as a reference point that there is an issue with rotation of photos being uploaded from specifice iphones and firmwares. make sure your phone is up to date, and updates are applied regularly.

you can also try uploading your pictures to a hosting site such as google drive, imgur, flickr, etc. to post your images via an embedded link as well.

let me know if that helps.

Late to this party, but I'm having fits with my photos being incorrectly orientated when they are posted on the BB.

I email the photos from my iPhone 6S to my email account, then load them into various folders on my PC, From there, I post them on the BB. For a long time, there was no problem, but now every photo shows up incorrectly on the BB.

If I need change something on my phone, fire away. I am current with all updates.

Thanks,

Ray

Hey Ray,

This issue was addressed above. There is a link that will provide you with instructions on how to rectify the problem:

iphone - iOS Image Orientation has Strange Behavior - Stack Overflow

Let us know if that helps and/or if you need further assistance.

Cheers,
Natalie

Natalie,

Thanks for the info, but my doctoral dissertation wasn't that long and was a lot less complicated to understand!

When I send photos to my email, they are fine. When I send them to others in emails or text messages, they are fine. It's only when I try and post photos to the BB that they become rotated for some reason.

I have a lot of photos to post on the BB of my restoration, so I really don't want this problem to continue. Please help.

Thanks,

Ray

Ray, it is an iOS and therefore iPhone problem (how the tilt sensor information in the device affects image orientation embedded in the image), not an AlfaBB problem.

I've seen this problem on other sites, too. As Apple seems to stick to their silo mentality, which is possibly even more arrogant than Microsoft was in the 1990s (both expecting everybody else to fix problems they introduced in the first place), you may need a piece of image processing software that aligns the images properly before posting.

If that is the case then explain to us why it only happens on this site.

As stated above, it's not happening on this site only. I've seen it myself on other sites, too. The link Natalie provided above is proof of the Apple problem, with a technical explanation that probably goes deeper than you and I may care about, but just note how many techies responded and confirmed the problem exists -- and I bet very few of those, if any, were AlfaBB members.

It didn't happen on Facebook or other sites I have posted on. I was using an iPhone 5 last time it happened and since I got my iPhone 7 I've had no trouble so far, so Apple might have fixed it with the later IOS.
