Hi,

Firstly, a "thank you" to Simon for creating this new forum devoted to the Alfa Romeo trucks, buses, trolleybuses, railway engines, tractors & other industrial equipment, maybe even cookers!

I look forward to enjoying many interesting posts, but I fear that I will be merely a reader...

Note that there is now also a a forum dedicated to the Romeo, A12 & A12 vans & light trucks.

Interesting that this thread should appear. The company where I work( http://www.taylorpower.com/ )just took on the Fiat Power Technologies (FPT) engines. When looking through the FPT "fluff" sheets what did I see but Alfa Romeo engines & transmissions. We will be dealing in mostly generator & power unit engines but it will be interesting to see what else they offer. Next thursday will be the big day.

My avatar shows a 1950 Alfa 800A bus with body from the well known firm SICCA. SICCA and Alfa romeo had a successful cooperation in the early fifties for the famous 902AS buses. The "S" of course stands for SICCA. The patented SICCA chassis was used in combination with the 6 cylinder Alfa Romeo diesel engine from the 900 series. The 902AS buses were available with bodies from many different coach builders.

The 800A SICCA shown in my avatar is one of 2 (as far as known to me). The bodies of these 2 800A SICCA buses varied slightly in the design of the front section to suit the identity of the bus companies for which these vehicles were made.

Hi,

I just bought a book on Alfa trucks, When I saw it I couldn't resist.
I never knew alfa made trucks, I'd seen pictures of their vans.

Best picture is a 1965 Transporter, with one of just about every model of car they made that year on it, way cool.
Its also got a picture of a Cement truck.

If I get a chance to scan some of the cooler ppictures I'll post them.

Just what I need another forum to follow

I thought that as you liked the Alfa Camion book that you would like colour photos of the "Mille" converted to transport aero engines.

Hi Charley, the Mille aero engine transporter is an interesting vehicle. Unfortunately I lost this E-Bay auction for the Alfa Avio brochure from which these pictures come. Better luck next time ??????

While I am really glad to see the Romeo and F12 vans getting space ,how about those other Cinderella alfa vans the Alfa Romeo Saviem and arveco vans . I thought that I would kick off with these few images ,more to follow

Hi,

Nice to see these photos. Can I suggest that they belong to the other new Forum, for trucks etc.? There ware some quite big Saviem based models, 5 ton & up from memory. This forum was really intended for the models which were designed around the Alfa Romeo twin cam motors.

One of the problems with the old forums was that threads were often difficult to find as they were not always in a forum where you expected to find them...

No offence intended, hope that none is taken.

Attached is an interesting article (in Portugese ) on the trucks used by the Brazilian forces mainly FNM/Alfa...even if you cant read the language the photos are interesting.
