On the second vidoe it appears the fire crew is not very well trained!

I guess at that point the car was so far it wouldn't have mattered.........

OK, so what's the message?... That the Brazilians have 164s to burn? Or is there a moral here: "Don't let your car catch fire in Brazil!"?

Best regards,

As a firefighter and a firefighter trainer here's what I saw right and wrong with their approach;
Right-
took their time, no car is worth your life ( some may disagree with that)
finally approached the car from the side, exploding bumper shocks can kill, or in the least end your career.
It did look like they had a little problem getting the water flowing, of course you couldn't see the back of the truck where they may have had to unroll 150' of hose first. If they were running a foam system, some need to be primed first, ( in-line induction system)
OK, Wrong-
Parked too close to vehicle, and downwind of it also, see where the smoke went? right into the engineers line of sight, where he and the OIC ( officer in charge) can't keep accountability of personnel. ( plus vehicle fires are one of the most toxic we face, not a whole lotta natural materials go into cars anymore )
Initially approached the rear of vehicle, ( see above)
They were not wearing full protective gear, just coats and helmet. no pants or SCBA (air pack, again toxic smoke)
I'm sure if I studied this more I could find more to point out.Plus we don't know the makeup of the crew, did they have a newbie on the truck? car fires are a good way for them to get nozzle time and teach them a few things. (books only go so far) Bottom line is, no lives were in danger, no reason to risk theirs unnecessarily.
Plus this is a perfect example of why you should have an extinguisher in your car!
on second review, looks like they initially had to put a nozzle on the line, why it wasn't already attached is anyones guess, I would have to see their SOGs

Few $'s of fuel line?

The message I take away is replace fuel lines often, and with the best stuff you can get! My two 164s have always needed a few feet of fuel line replaced almost annually to avoid leakage...way more often than any other car I've owned. Thankfully, it is a very easy job.

Don, I have to agree about the lack of SCBA.
I can hear my lieutenant yelling at me now if I was not packed up.
Keep safe,
