VVT - Exhaust

Murry,

Did you add VVT on the exhaust side? Wow! What kind of HP are you seeing at the wheels?

That is quite a set up. What did you do to the FI to keep up?

Thanks for posting Balacco,

Yes we did add an exhaust VVT.

I got 169 HP at the wheels when it was completed in the Spring 2007 and at last December's (2008) dyno .........much faster then JohnM's white Spider.

I have an Autronic SM-2 ECU that handles the FI and operates the intake and exhaust cam independently. I also have an Autronic 500R CID ignition box with 4 MSD Blaster coils for a direct fire ignition.

The whole thing was engineered out by my engine builder Steve Schwitters (an Aeronautic engineer and old time Alfa racer).

The engine was basically race prep with larger valves, wild cams, custom design pistons, balanced and lighten internal engine components, baffled oil sump, aluminum flywheel, 5 1/4" Tilton race clutch and more.

We went to larger injectors to handle the extra airflow from the individual throttle body's and larger valves but stayed with the stock exhaust manifold.

We also switched out the 4.10 rear axle to a 4.56 and locked it out to 47%.

The whole project is covered in "Msiert Black Spider Project" the link is at the bottom of the page.

Talk about "point and squirt" - only sounds like he's on the throttle half the time...

That's an Innovate XD-16 A/F gauge. I have it feeding off the Innovate's LM-1 A/F monitor. The monitor also feeds an analog signal to my Autronic Sm-2 ECU so I can log the A/F in the ECU and PC data logger and use it to adjust the A/F it necessary.

The gauge is programmable in that you can set the high and low A/F warnings, it holds the high and low A/F readings, you can also program it to read other sensors and it has a button on it to start/stop the A/F logging in the LM-1.

I got it for $199.00...............

XD-1 : Universal Programmable Digital Gauge / Air Fuel Ratio Guage

Thanks Rosso, I still get butterflys when I start her up.

I took her out today it was 64F degrees with plenty of sunshine. I took a new route about 25 miles longer then the old one with more interstate driving.

My normal route is peppered with deer this time of year. That's the draw back to the country roads down by the river. It drives me crazy that they don't cross were their suppose too.
