This is good information, thank you. Any NOS or reconditioned units at a lower price point?
Does anyone have a photo of where this installs on a Giulietta Spider Veloce and maybe a clear shot of the proper routing of the water lines to the heater box and bypass? My valve was frozen when I bought the car 27 years ago, and I just removed it and redirected the water flow to bypass the heater.
There is a Website that sells the heater valves on an eBay auction for as little as $35.00 plus shipping. I purchased four valves from this Website for about that price plus shipping.
The lowest price for the heater valve is $49.00 plus shipping on eBay under Maserati heater valve. The next lowest price is Alfa Stop at $80.00 plus shipping.
I needed 7, so bought 2 sets, Maseratisource shipped internally in the US for free (yay) and the 8th went to a worthy cause. I'm sure they sell individually, but their Ebay price was higher per single valve. I had a Paypal hiccup (International sale), but Jacques at Maseratisource quickly sorted that out - a good experience all round.
Casting is slightly rougher than the originals and there is a casting flashing mark that will need to be cleaned up, but for the price, these are good value.
Just checked w/ Maseratisource. They will sell me 1 @ $59 (free shipping). They quote 4 at $149, which works out to $37.50 each.
Always interested in saving a dime, if there were 3 others in the US interested in getting one, I would purchase a set of 4 and reship (USPS small flat rate box, my cost $5.25) three for a net payment of $42.75.
Anyone interested?
David
