Borrani Steel Wheel - one available
I have an extra Borrani steel wheel for sale. Best offer over the weekend.
The wheel and I are located in Waynesboro, Virginia.
Two hubcap tabs are broken off and the valve stem is missing.
Media blasted yesterday. Needs a coat of primer and paint. Has some pitting from the rust. I can take and post additional photos if needed.

I have one also
For anyone else interested I think my spare was the same wheel. It has an old Pirelli Tire on, still holds air and very little road use a good spare!. Is there a way to tell a Borrani from another?
Any interest let me know.

Question: you say Borrani but it says "CMR" on the back, one of the three main Alfa steel wheel manufacturers. ???

I don't think he is just "saying", as the first pic is clearly "showing" the rim stamped as Brevetto Borrani.

Bruce,
As Lenny says, the wheel is clearly stamped Borrani on the outside hub. The CMR stamping is on the circumference surface (where the tube would contact the wheel). I never heard of CMR as a wheel manufacturer so I cannot explain. I was just showing all stampings on the wheel. Can someone explain further?

CMR (Costruzioni Meccaniche Rho) and Borrani are the same company.. sort of. It's too complicated to argue the point as the merger took place in the 50's.

Thanks, just curious as I did see both markings above and had thought that they were separate firms. ZPerhaps they maintained separate "works"? I associated Borrni only with wire wheels. That answer works for me. Parts manuals starting in mid-60's typically indicate three steel wheel vendors for 105's: Firsat, Fergat and CMR. I assume it is a 4 1/2x15 wheel.

CMR was a steel rim producer. Brevetti Borrani doesn't mean that the rim was made by Borrani, it just means that the rim has been made by Borrani specifications, as stated in the Borrani patent file (brevetto). IMHO this rim has been made by CMR under Borrani patents. My Borrani wheels just say "Borrani", and not "Brevetto Borrani", nor CMR anywhere.

Thanks all for the history lesson on wheels, seriously. I, as many of us do, have a fascination with all things Alfa including the bits that go in them. I have an offer on the wheel so I consider it tentatively sold pending my ability to get paid and get the item shipped.
