Maybe it's just the black on the rocker panel, but the shape of the car, especially the back 1/4 of it, doesn't seem quite right. Is it real or a replica? S/N??

The Double bubble is throwing you off. I was told that this car was driven by 2 texans back in the day that were too tall for the standard roofline.

The only one known for having an original double bubble roof is 061. It was originally Nabokow's car, and indeed he was too tall for the standard TZ roof. That original car is pictured in some books, including "Autodelta" by Gianni Chizzola. It has gone to the US in the nineties. Now, I'm not saying this is the actual car, I don't know. But I would not exclude it from what I see on the pic here. Further pictures could help.
The puzzling shape of the rear, as you raise your doubts, look to me more the rear wheell arch that has been opened wider, possibly if the car got fatter tyres somewhere in its life.

These pictures are of Nadeene Brengle in 750 016 at the '67 ARRC at Riverside. Nadeene almost made history that day. She qualified on the pole with a new track record in Cp. Dick Smith in a Porsche 356 got a great jump at the start and took the lead with Nadeene in pursuit. Going into turn 5, Dick tapped his brakes and Nadeene had to take evasive action, spinning off and scraping the outside wall. She came back on the track in last place. Over the next 16 laps she put on a masterful display, picking off cars one-by-one. The checkered fell with Nadeene right on Smith's tail. In the race she lowered the lap record again by a full second. I was 7 at the time. My grandmother, brothers and I watched the race from the outside of turn 2. I didn't really understand why everyone was making such a big deal about my mom passing all these other people. Didn't everyone have a mom who could drive the wheels off of a race car?
Many years later I asked her about the race. She told me that when Dick hit the brakes in front of her she had a choices. She could hit him, she could go off the track and take her chances, or she could hit her brakes hard and take out all of her friends in Lotus Super 7's behind her. She told me that that the only right thing to do was to not take anyone else out.
I think she was in fact, the first female champion!

I call it a badge restoration. All they had left after the fire was the ID badge. They built a car around that. Poof "full restoration".
