Who designed them?

In the Ghia book by Valerio Moretti there is stated the following:

In Chapter 9. The “B. Junior”

1954- Alfa Romeo 1900C. The first of the Bjunior by Gian Paolo Boano was a fairly traditional coupe in line with contemporary Ghia production

In Chapter 27. Giovanni Savuzzi

1954 - 1900SS. This coupe designed by Savonuzzi was exhibited at the 41st Paris Motor Show and bought by a French industrialist, the ‘king’ of the zip fasteners

He stated further: “…on the chassis of the Alfa Romeo 1900 SuperSprint, e.g. the twin tone Abarth-Alfa Romeo 2000, Prepared by Conrero and presented at the XXXVI Turin Motor Show and then Paris in 1954.”

It is clearly that design wise, both cars are almost identical, so they must be designed by the same person, but who is the creator Gian Paolo Boano or Giovanni Savonuzzi?

And what were the exact responsibilities of Alfa Romeo, Ghia, Abarth and Conrero in the Abarth-Alfa Romeo 2000 project? (the author mentions that the car is based on an Alfa Romeo chassis and not an Abarth chassis)

The two tone car is an Abarth; NOT an Alfa. It simply has a modified Alfa 1900 motor. Both bodies were designed by Boano. The chassis on the two cars ARE different

This car is an Alfa 1900 with Ghia coachwork also designed by Boano and similar but not identical to the B-Junior. It was owned by Paul Forbes, in Malibu, California, but I am not sure of the current owner:

So if I understand it correct, there were at least 3 similar looking cars made.

I always thought that the B.Junior and the car that was owned by Paul Forbes were one and the same car. I can’t see any difference between the 2 cars.

Did only using the basic block of the Alfa Romeo 1900 engine (and perhaps some other parts e.g. drivetrain) in the Abarth car justify the presence of the Alfa badge on the front grille (besides the prominent Abarth badge on the bonnet)?

There were b junior style cars that were not Alfas. It is just the term for a particular style of coachwork.

The two color car used an Alfa engine and some other Alfa components, but the chassis was Abarth, not Alfa

I know that the B.Junior was not just a single Alfa Romeo, it was rather a Ghia theme of Gian Paolo Boano designed cars. His first B.Junior creation was based on a Fiat 1900, the B.Junior 2 was based on a Lancia Aurelia,…

I just used the B.Junior tag to get a confirmation that the Paul Forbes car and the B.Junior car which I mentioned in my post #92 are effectively 2 different cars.
I assume that the Paul Forbes car and the Abarth car are also both B.Junior cars.

there is some information in "Veloce - The Racing Giuliettas" by
Donald Hughes / Vito Witting Da Prato. The scan is to large to be included here. The pictures in the book show a white car with a dark top during tests in Monza. But there also was a different paint combination: red body with white top - as can be seen from the pictures.

Carlo Abarth produced the 1100 record car together with Penin Farina, at the same time was produced an other car for ,similar to the 1100, but for a 750 ccm engine. Both cars was presented at Geneva Motor Show 1957.
Carlo Abarth had run a series attempt on the different world records in 1956, the class H with engine from 501 ccm to 750 ccm, with a Bertone produced and Scaglione designed car on a modified chassis from a Abarth 215A.
The Bertone car set a lot of records, but Abarth was not satisfied.
So he took contact with Penin Farina to design the new record car. Penin Farina had good relations to the management at Turin Polytechnic University, where the just had installed a new wind tunnel. Penin Farine used the wind tunnel to test the design and optimise the shape of the record car.
For the 1100 ccm record attempt, a Alfa Romeo Giulietta engine was selected, and the bore stroke was 68x75 1088 ccm (original Giulietta 74x75 1290 ccm) for class G from 751 ccm to 1100 ccm. Output 78 hp at 6800 rpm
On the 18 of May 1957 the car set a lot of new records

That Faza wesbite is a mess, are Alfred Cosentino's books the same way?

All the `EVERYTHING YOU KNOW IS WRONG' passages are totally out of place. The site does have about 600 great photographs.

No comment, other than consider the source.
