6C 1750 Flying Star
"As they had done for the Isotta-Fraschini 8B and the Fiat Type 522C, Carrozzeria Touring of Milan also designed a special body for the Alfa-Romeo 6C 1750 GS, which was to go down in motoring history as the “Flying Star”. With this model Mrs Josette Pozzo won the Coppa d’Oro di Villa d’Este at the 1931 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. After a gap of 76 years, the Alfa Romeo Flying Star returns to the historic site of its greatest success. "
That's all I have. Any more info floating around?

No, I am trying to track down history / articles. I know the car was at Pebble in '05, but where was it before then? At some point I should talk to Auturo Keller I suppose.

From casual observation I get
-that awesome fender sill treatment
-triple white color combo
-Unique one-piece windscreen
-White steering wheel
-Engraved gear knob (with orig. owner's initials?)
-Unique curved hood louvres
-Nickel Accent dash that hugs rear fenders

Triple-white seems to be OK for a trailer queen, but completely impractical for the car when it was made (dirt roads, etc).

When I visited the Blackhawk museum in the East Bay area, I saw the Flying Star. I thought it was an incredible looking car. Almost too perfect. Don't recall the year, but it was after 2000.

The owner probably had a full time mechanic and it was cleaned every day by one of the staff. The car isn't really pure white, it has a beige/grey light tint.

Let's not forget that this was created for the Concours scene, and most likely built up as a work of art and not as a full fledged race car.
It must be one of the first Touring showcars. I don't know which Isotta-Fraschini 8B or Fiat Type 522C the text reffers to.

The Isotta was a year earlier, and doesn't have as dramatic a fender line. Here is a link to a photo:

On the next link, the FIAT is at the top. Don't know what color it was.
The Isotta is at the bottom, and in the sketch it is blue with red fenders:

To me this design is one of the most fascinating. The design is called Flying Star because the lines on the sides of the engine cover, should illustrate the tale of a comet, they are open to the bottom to give air circulation to the engine cabin.
It was producer for the Lady Josetta Pozzo, and the white collar just underline the feminine impression. She presented the Flying Star at Villa d'Este September 1931,and naturally von the Golden Cup. The design was copied by Castagna on a Lancia Astura ,and it make a lot of fuss at that time and Castagna had to lend ears protester about plague. At that time, Touring and Castagne where the leading dominating Carrozzeria in Italy.
We find this design again in the Touring Superleggera logo, where the wings illustrate the same tails of the comet.

Stunning car, but in today's world you are probably talking about something around 3 million dollars!
