No question that this is an Autodelta 16 valve narrow angle head. I love to talk to you about it for my GTA restoration if you are interested in parting with it. You can email me at judgeparkerracing@comcast.net. Thanks, Judge

Is it a Angelini head or AD spec head?

Brandon,
That one is a AutoDelta head. The photo below is a Angelini head.

Hi Simon,
I have seen other Alfa valve covers used on the Angelini head, and from the angle that the other picture is it is hard to tell as I could not see the front of the head, thought it may be a Angelini head with a AR valve cover.
I beleive you are correct!
Thanks for responding, much appreciated!
Anyone have the homogalation info on the Angelini head and the history of how Angelini managed to homoglate them? Seems they had to build a large quanity of the heads and have them installed at the AR factory from what the FIA papers seem to say, really curious about this. Any insight?

Those Angelini heads are pieces of art, it makes my hair stand on end to think that those Angelini GTAs in grainy old B&W photographs are running 16 valve heads!! Real pride in Italian cars should not be hard to understand eh?

Here is another small engine from Alfa with big power: 1,4L 400Hp. in a 116 GTV. I think it has similarities with other engines shown here. Can anyone identify this one as a 16V 1,4L engine?
Some data: bore x stroke: 81mm x 69 mm = 1421cc with turbocharging.
Power 400 Hp at 9500 rpm.

It sure looks like a 16V motor. I am sure Jim K. would know. I will ask.

Very interesting thread! This Turbo I recall seeing in some german gtv site a few years ago...somebody managed to 'marry' the 16v with a snail and EFI (AFM visible, feeding compressor)
Must have been some very interesting mapping work there!

OK, I take it as a confirmation that the turbo engine also was a 16V creation from Autodelta. From the apperarances it was clear that it was not a regular 1300 engine modified, but the germans also made a 16V engine themselves and marketed it. Have never seen a photo of that one.
The turbo GTV in question here was the Isert car, which had a very good engine, however it was so strong that it broke the driveshafts and had a lot of technical trouble. Some photos:

Interesting thread. Could someone tell me where the Autodelta heads and Angelini heads were used? I have seen people mention "homologated" etc. so were these legal in the trans-am series?
I recently aquired a 69 GTV that raced in Canadian Bulova B-sedan in 70-7?. What little I have found about the car is that at some point it ran the 1750 block with mono-sleeve @ 1900cc. Would this also have used one of these heads?
