The "Paris" badge was to stress the fact Alfas were (supposedly - actually only little work was carried out in France) assembled in France then to avoid heavy custom fees applied to finished, imported cars.
Note that while the story repeats itself after WWII for the same reasons, it has nothing to do with the 1958 Alfa-Renault agreement where Renault (nationalised from 1945) would sell and service Alfas on the French market (specific VIN plates in French and referring to the "Regie Nationale Renault") and Alfa assemble Dauphines (designed as "Alfa-Romeo Dauphine"), and later Renault 4s in Italy and sell them through its own commercial net.
