1971,Sebring 12 Hours. 512's lone championship victory,33/3's best appearance in 1970.
Statistics for that race show:
Car no.33: Masten Gregory-Toine Hezemans,qualified 13th,finished 3rd,one lap down on winners.
Car no.32: Piers Courage-Andrea de Adamich, qual.8th,finished 9th.
Car no.31: Rolf Stommelen-Nanni Galli,qual.12th,finished 8th.

However...
Re-checking the photos, proves these data wrong:
1) Car 31: The driver is definitely Piers Courage (helmet colours) and the drivers names on the side of the car look like P.Courage, A.De Adamich
2) Car 33: Drivers names look like M.Gregory, T.Hezemans (first initial looks M or N, last letter in the top name looks Y, initial in second drivers name is a T and the last two letters look like NS)
Which leaves car 33 as that of Stommelen-Galli.
My original data came from the period race report and entry list which appeared in the French L'Automobile magazine in 1970.
Cheers
Yorgos

Dear AlfaRonny,
Tried to review the photos of the T33/3s, but they don't come up. Can you post them again?
Thanks,

A short note to call your attention on a 1970 strange habit of Carlo Chiti: the cars are individually called after star names, on the front fenders.
You can read definitely "VEGA" on the third one, the other ones are a bit blurred, but with the list at hand, it should be possible to guess their name...

Car no. 31 is "Rigel" (left foot on the Orion constellation).
Among other names were Altair, Mizar, Algol and Proctor.

Thank you williboy and AlfaRonny.
A bit off post but does anyone know of any books that cover the history of the tipo 33 in hill climbs during the period 1967 to 1977? I have some history gleaned from Autocourse, period magazines, web etc. but have failed to come up with any definitive history. Any pointers greatfully appreciated.
Regards,
Jeff.

The only existing book on the 33s is the one written by Ed McDonough, and it's a good one. Unfortunately, specifically for your focus on hillclimbs, it's not complete, as it doesn't cover the 1967 Group 7 special, lightweight 33. Yet other interesting features can be found in, such as the hillclimb entered 33 Stradales.
So there's no definitive source on the topic, but some interesting stuff could be found in a now clsoed French magazine, Automobile Historique, whose number 6, if I recall well, had a nice central feature on the 33. Good reference.

Thank you gtv2000. Not a magazine I've read but will look at sourcing it. I have the Ed McDonough book and yes I agree it's a good one.

Jeff.
