The Giro was not a part of the World Championship in 1975. It was simply a rally of some international import. I am not really familiar with this particular version of the T33

The car was indeed a rebodied V8 33 with a new body, 1975-lookalike, but much shorter.
It failed to finish.
It's currently in a collection in New York, I don't remember the name of the collector who owns it.
One strange feature is that, since the rally was hold late into the season, the car wore already stickers on the front spoiler with "Alfa Romeo 1975 World Champion", while still being in 1975. Period pic attached - further documents welcome, as I have not much.

There had been a previous model kit, 1/43, of that car made in resin by the French obscure maker "Manou Le Mans"? That one missed the rear twin windows (inon the sides of the rear airscoop) as for then nobody had noticed them from the scarce documents available.

This car should not be confused with another 33-3 V8, closed version, that raced in Austria in 1969 nor that - I'm incline to believe it's not the same car - that was once owned by Michael Sheehan.

This car is very strange. The body looks like an earlly T33TT from 1972, but with a roof added. The T33/Montreal motors of 2, 2.5, and 3 liters really all date to the late 60s. This oddball seems to me that it was cobbled up from spare parts, but I have no idea for what reason and why they wouldn't just use a later car. The roof makes sense, because it was a rally, rather than a true road race.

I would say the size is 1972 33TT3. The body really is an adaptation of the late 1973 one, already developped for the 33TT12 by the SERA aerodynamics studio run by Robert Choulet: shape of the headlamps and fairings, straight sides, position of the radiators in the side pods and all the front end are really the then "new" version. The splitter, on the WC race cars, was a later, if quite early, addition; lacking here probably because of ground clearance and front hangover. Of course they did need the shortest possible wheelbase for, basically, a road race that included track sectors. I thus assume that the 12C was not suitable.

I can't quote the chassis number; not sure if I have it somewhere, I would say not, but have not checked. That would help tracking possible earlier life of the car.

Here a few pics of the car as and where it's now - well, where it was when the pics were take, i.e. at least 5 years ago.

Note that I have no further details on location. I'm not sure whether it is actually by the New York owner or elsewhere.

From the rear 3/4 view it looks like something Batman might drive. But, looks great from all other angles.

I like the idea; I don't like the red; ny owner...eh; black and white shot seems pretty good; one of those things; model...then pic...not convinced; flat 12 is mighty expensive...rest of it you can come up with; that year 3312 is remarkably popular as a model and is a Walter Wolf car I believe so you could probably come up with a body (no periscopio for instance) - sort of a strang championship year as I recall as a 13 yo autoweek reader...really...almost the only seriouse entrant -sounds like a great idea...but...it's not a real alfa

The car is NOT a fake. IT is a combination of real Alfa parts, put together for a specific event, and DID run with a V-8. The car really DID run in the Giro in 1975. I am NOT sure if it was actually put together by Alfa, Autodelta, or some private individual or group that bought the parts from Alfa, however...

I wish someone made a kit car based on one of these racing Alfas.

There are any number of people that could build a "replicar", but it would probably cost as much as a real T33...
