Classic sticky throttle syndrome

New to Alfas, (Seven MGs) at 6'4", Triumphs don't fit!)
My latest car is an 84 Spyder. Saved from an impound yard, it is the best sports car I have ever owned! Except for the damn throttle! Very sticky! I found my answer! I liberally doused all pivot point, and bell crank points with "PB Blaster" penetrant! after several applications, my throttle is smooth! My new problem is that the throttle is so sensitive, that my body movement on acceleration, I get this annoying "Surging". Any ideas?

Welcome to the BB. Seven MG's huh? I've had three - and still have my first car - a 1961 MGA.

Regarding your Spider, peruse the Spider L-jetronic page (link is in my signature) for lots of info about diagnosis & tune up of the L-jet system in our cars.

Welcome to AlfaBB, Barry. Kudos for choosing to be a paid subscriber right away. You may get more answers by posting your question in the Spider forum rather than in the Alfa history forum.
