(Moved from the thread about Simon Moore's new 8C2900 edition coming out...)

Stu, you have me thinking (yes, a rare event ). What books are at the top of your book wants list?
I would just love a coffee table picture book on special-bodied Alfa's, both prewar and post war. Like the Michael Frostick book, but with decent photos, period and modern, including detail shots.
Also, a picture book on Italian carrozzeria- including decent modern photos.
Lastly, a really good (warts and all) history of Autodelta.

While I have no particular books at the top of my list, I look at new entries as expanding collection development areas even if there is some duplication in the process or as adding to the research or clarification of current material owned, where clarity may be less than straight forward or where new discoveries have been uncovered.
With something like Simon's books, an important author as related to Alfa History, I feel the necessity to obtain any new offerings both for the information, the investment, and having a complete set -- I won't say no matter what the cost; but Pat and I have paid more than is being proposed for Simon's new book for other materials in the library on an individual basis.
I realize those are not the specifics that you asked of Stu or that you offered, but the general guidelines I apply to adding new materials to Pat's library.
Having said that, I'm also curious what Stu feels are worthy investments or additions to a library at what he considers a fair price based on information offered. Stu and I, I'm sure, look at library additions at some points similarly and at other points very differently based on training, use, availability, price, and interest as a part to the whole.

IMO, the 1st book any Alfa person should buy is the most recent copy of Hull and Slater they can find. I have a collection of some 2000 books and 10,000 magazines, so there isn't much I'm looking for, other than new books as they come out.
One book I'd like to have a second copy of is Mille Miglia: Una Corsa Italiana, but Orsini. That, and the book La Sport E I Suoi Artigiani are the two I use most.....but they are really more "etceterini" than Alfa books.

Richards list is excellent for coachbuilders I would add Anselmi's 'Making a difference' covering the non pininfarina coachwork Ferrari's. Very nice but a bit heavy to easily read.
I would also add the sister volume to Fiat 8VZ Alfa 1900SSZ-Michelle Marciano on the Fulvia Sport & Junior Zagato along with the Ferrari by Zagato again by Marciano.
What do people think about Otto Vu? IMO it is better than Alleggerita.
