Alfa Romeo 1900SS cabriolet carrozzeria Touring –1954 prototype

Gulpmodel offers a model called:

Alfa Romeo 1900SS cabriolet carrozzeria Touring

Information that comes with the model:
This particular 1900 SS Cabriolet derived from the second series of the Coupé that the Carrozzeria Touring in Milan had started producing in 1954, by shortening the platform of the 1900 and using the motor of the 1900 Super (115 hp). In spite of the Super Sprint Coupé, this particular model didn’t get into mass production so it can be considered only a pleasant prototype.

Caratteristiche Tecniche:

Motore 4 cilindri Bialbero in alluminio
Cilindrata 1884cc
Potenza 115 cv
Velocità max 190 Kmh
Carrozzeria tipo Cabriolet due posti
Derivata da AR 1900 SS Coupè 2° Serie
Trasformazione eseguita da Carrozzeria Touring Milano
Anni di produzione 1954
Esemplari prodotti 1

This car is totally unknown to me and it is also not mentioned in the book 'Il Signor Touring' and unfortunately I don't have the book 'Touring Superleggera: Giant among Italian coachbuilders' to see if it is included in that overview.

Can somebody post some more information and pictures of this particular car?

Unfortunately, I am not able to find pics (and information) of it. :-(
Are you sure you don’t mix up with the other Carrozzeria Touring 1900 convertibles: Tipo 55 cabriolet and the 1956 1900 SS Cabriolet?

One of the Touring 1900 Spiders, as shown in upper photo in Post #3 and as opposed to the 1900 Touring Cabriolet in the lower photo of that post, exists today and is SN *01963*. The photo here, from the web, was taken in about 1980. I believe the car is currently undergoing restoration somewhere. I know nothing more about it.

I saw the pictures you refer to in the 1900 forum. They are of the 1956 car, not the earlier 1954 Touring 1900 Super Sprint prototype. The Alfa Romeo 1900 Sprint by le Auto Classiche has the following drawing and info. Can someone translate? It seems to say that currently it is not known if a prototype was ever produced. The photo on the modelmaker's website could be an aftermarket conversion, too.

This pic is for sale on ebay. 1956 Alfa Romeo 1900 Touring Cabrio original photo - eBay (item 190279148907 end time Jan-19-09 11:00:00 PST)

It looks like a hybrid of both the earlier and later 1900 SS Cabriolets. Could this be another 1-off interim prototype? The differences I see with the later car are: A hint of a rise in the rear fender line (or is this just a scratch in the photo?), and the placement of the body trim at the waistline. The slight backward rake at the rear edge of the door and the vent windows match the later car, though. This photo has period stamps from Touring and the title Cabriolet "Superlegerra" 4 posti su _____ Alfa Romeo 1900 Super.

This is the Tipo 55 as shown in post 3.
Both pics are from the same 'photoshoot' (look at the identical background)
