I'm after a hot model...

of a red 75 (or similar) 105 spider.

I need the european version not the american one which looks markedly different. Basically I'm thinking of a christmas present for my old man who has the version of this car that resides in the garage but not on the shelf .

Anyone know some good suppliers that make say 1:43 model of this car? I'm after something not too expensive but reasonable quality and detail.

Vitesse makes a Spider in 1/43

- but you dont want that. Give your old man a Minichamps Spider in 1/18:

Yup, that IS a nice Spider - I have been considering it to stand next to my Yat Ming GTA - they would make a nice pair.

You could probably convert it to RHD - nice winter project..

45 pounds? You can get it cheaper than that. Theres one for sale at ebay for 39 euro right now. He ships worldwide.

The GTA is nice - only the B-pillars are way to wide. My project is to take it apart and paint the interior black.

Hmmm ok. That was off the minichamps website. Guess I'll have to look around.

From what I can see it looks like the A and C pillars are too wide. Did the GTA come with a wooden steering wheel??

I agree with you on the black interior department. I've never liked cream interior on anything.

I quite like those scale43 GTAs that you pointed out a while ago. Guess they're pretty pricey eh?

The Vitesse 1/43 models are REALLY nice - and pricey. I just like a 1/18 better - you can enjoy if from your favorite chair at a distance. I think you should get the one from ebay - its at "buy now", and I think 39 euros is OK. But there are quite a few at ebay.de so you could follow them a bit.
The YatMing GTA is VERY detailed - more than the Minichamps Spider I think - I havent seen it IRL.

Yep I think he'd prefer the 1:18 scale even if its a skimp on the price and detail.

The only other thing is dad's car doesn't have those hub caps but just the polished wheels. I wonder if they're removable?

I guess you'll have to give him a set of hubcaps too.

The 1/18 is more detailed than the 1/43. Bigger models = more detail (usually). But for a 1/43, the Vitesse is VERY detailed.

Jørgens Translations Services to the rescue: He says that freight WITHIN GERMANY costs 5,90 euro. You'll have to ask him how much it is to Australia. (Fragen an Verkaufer) Just write him in english - he'll understand.
