Hey...no track-days? What gives? Don't your alfas nag you about taking them to the track like mine does? My alfa and I may just be on our way back to Toronto pretty soon. If I can't arange some track time it might not agree to go. Are there any alfa-friendly track-day organizations near TO that you guys run with?

Hi Graham,
There aren't any specific Alfa track days in the area. There are some organizations that run track days which are mostly attended by Rice Rockets and some German Iron. There aren't too many Alfa locals who attend track days (ASAIK I was the only one last year and I did about 10 laps). Another member of the club attends a couple of autocrosses each year. Most of our members have spiders with no roll bars so even if they wanted to go they couldn't.

Bummer. Stilll, I'll work something out, I like eating rice.
Have you ever thought about organizing a club trip to a track day? You may find that if you can get 8 or 10 cars to commit, other car clubs will welcome the guaranteed revenue.

Hey, this might be sort of a religious issue but why wouldn't a spider have a roll bar? Those cars may be light but they still hurt like hell when they're sitting on your head.

We've talked about it, but there isn't enough interest. At any given time there may be 2 or 3 people who are interested but mostly there is zero interest. When 20 or so of us went to NH for the convention two years ago, several of us signed up for the lunch time lapping but I think part of the reason for that was it was cheap and didn't last long so why not. Most of the available track time seems to be already taken by races or clubs or individuals who organize track days. They are usually on a week day and cost between $200 and $300 dollars. People aren't that interested!

As far as the roll bars, I think most consider the car a weekend cruiser and don't see a need for a roll bar (I'm a GTV guy, so I'm just guessing).
