I live in Toronto and am interested in potentially buying a GT Junior 1300 in Italy (or maybe Germany or the Netherlands) in the near future, then bringing it back home to upgrade, rebuild/restore and enjoy! I've been a long time fan of the Type 105 but have never really had a chance to see one up close or sit in one. It's nice to see that there's a great little community of Alfa GT owners in the GTA/Toronto area. Perhaps we could meet up. It'd be nice to hear everyone's stories about owning, living with, working on and restoring these beautiful machines.
Hi Brad! Great to hear from you! I can zip over to Whitby. How's your week this week? Definitely sounds like you're the guy to talk to. Can you PM me? I can't PM anyone right now. One post!
Yeah 205/60R14s are an odd size. Tire Rack only returns one result, a track tire. Time to switch to a narrower width? There are some options for 195/60R14s.
They have a smaller diameter, the last thing you need with a 4.56 rear end. I had that size on a 69 GTV 30 years ago, but it had a 4.10 diff so it didn't rev too high on the highway.
If you stay with 14'' rims depending on width and what you are looking for 195/70, 185/70, 195/65 are all close to OE dia.
195/60/14s are way to small in diameter. 15x6 rims suit a 195/60/15 well or a 185/65/15 and are close to OE dia.
It's really hard to find performance tires in those sizes unfortunately:frown2:
I keep wondering about going your route, but I love the look and stance of the setup I have.
If I decided to go with one of these sizes, I still have a set of Turbanas.
Since he has 14x7s, I'd go for the 195/70-14s. Looks like Tire Rack suggests the General Altimax RT43, T-rated. Bigger diameter too over the 205s. Good price as well.
I'll be at the cruise next Tuesday night at La Paloma.
