The car is very attractive. If I didn't already have a full garage and knew more about what takes to import a car from Canada I'd be interested.

I think it take longer to sell a very highest quality car at a "fair" price, cause most folks aren't in the market for that level.
they either want a basically "good" car in the 8-16k range that they will gradually "improve", or they want a top quality car that is a bargain

I really like this car but I cannot commit to any purchase decisions for a month or two. I have been thinking about it a bunch though.
A picture of the engine would be nice in the mean time.

Beautiful. I like the car a lot. Price seems a little high for what similar cars have been going for over the last few months. But I'd be interested in buying it at a better "fair price"
Do you know what takes to import a car from Canada to the US? And also could you post more pictures? If the car is in excellent condition it might be worth it. But definitely need more pics. Thanks

The market is depressed right now, but no one would have the slightest problem importing this car. 1966? No issues.
The only requirement is that you have to either bring it across the border yourself, or hire an agent of some sort to handle the paperwork. What you can't do is meet the seller somewhere in the US and buy the car. When you show up at your DMV office without importation docs, they get all upset. (In most states anyway.)
But, as I said, getting those docs from US customs while crossing the border with the car and sales docs in your possession would be a piece of cake for a car of this vintage. On later cars they get all fussy and want to see proof that it meets US standards at the time of manufacture, but not on a '66 - there weren't any!

While nothing is "wrong" with your car, maybe your comment of "The paint is far from perfect and there is some cracking in many places on the car." along with the more than average asking price, had some people hinking.

It's a question of opinion. And most importantly, mechanically, this car is flawless.

How bout a perfect paint job on a rust free and filler free sheet-metal body on a car that is mechanically flawless? That's my first choice.

Internet car sales are all about the pictures. Take a BUNCH of pictures showing all the issues so that people's imaginations don't run away with them. Show all the upgrades in situ so people can see the goodies and imagine the work it would take to install them on a "cheaper" car that doesn't have them. And of course all the other stuff on the car that does not have issues so people can see that despite it not being 100 points, it is a really nice car. Words don't do it - pictures, pictures, pictures! Top side, left side, bottom side, right side, front, back, inside, from every angle. It is work that will pay off.
On top of the pictures giving the car its best presentation, then people here can give you a more meaningful appraisal.

The car looks beautiful. If you want top dollar, consign it to fantasy junction. they just sold a bone stock 67 (not a concourse car) for $38000. I bought a car from them for $16,000 that was supposed to be a very solid driver, but was actually totally clapped out. I have spent the last year putting mine right. If I didn't have so much into mine, I would be buying yours. I also saw a decent driver, billed as a restored car, in california. I turned it down. the owner sold it to someone else for 32,000. Maybe the problem is the forum you are trying to sell in, rather than the car itself. By the way, I think the market is rocking, not depressed. Just my opinion

The market in "collector" cars is rocking. It's ridiculous some of the prices reached at the recent Amelia Island affair. It is still possible to get very big bucks for a GTV. Also, a bone stock car that has never been touched and is still in fair condition is now universally recognized as a very valuable rarity. But the outlets where the normal folks shop are not showing the kind of action they were 6 months or a year ago on GTVs. It is a recession for a lot of us after all.
Sure, I would try FJ with this car. Hey, after all, it's only $100 a month to store your car there, and truth be told, that is cheap for a garage in Emeryville. Plus if the right person walks in the door, you score big $$. That's probably where my Spider is going when she's ready.
