That article is probably 20 years old, he doesn't look anywhere near as good now.

Come on Uncle, get us some recent pics!

On a serious note, I recently drove the car and its a feisty little thing.

You are correct. the car has stood still..... Fiesty? next to 505 BHP? I take that as a compliment considereing it was hauling 450 lbs of ballast in two of us.

Why I didn't take more I don't understand.

If I had the $$$$, I'd be driving it. As it is, I'm living vicariously through the photos and dreaming.

Wink

Uncle,

Remind us again; were you asking $35 or $36 K for this old foreign car?

I'm not asking anything.. the car, racing history and lineage and Hagerty values speak in volumes that are documented. I leave the math to serious buyers. Put a better way, the value of this car is less than what one would spend to put a project in this condition by many many many hours and dollars even if they found a '57 Veloce shell or complete barn find and not be close to the originality I have preserved. It's not a trailer queen, if that is what one is looking for. The car won many National AROC concours in the day but it was never represented with the scrutiny of today's shows and thus has been driven as it should with 35 years of patina that still shows well. Thirty five year old restorations don't make the top tier. I'm not nave. I have served as a National judge many many times. I stated it is a 2-3, leaning toward 3 with an incorrect engine block and a 5 speed as part of the proposition. If you can't live with that, I won't take it to a 4 to sell it. The rest is up to the buyer to figure out. I have had one inquery asking if the color (not sure where that came from, obviously not recognizing the tint as what was available in the day as correct) was right and all the original parts including ancillaries are part of the deal and that even a re-stamped block was out of the question.. all fair questions but reserved for a '58 or '59 which are far more plentiful and which might draw more money in better or shall we say "fresher" condition. The person wanted the original head and everything else....Hmmm, that's a tall order to confirm even in a '58-'59. Go find it and have it proved as if it is important. I know this is part of selling a car. I'm fine with that.

Current photos will go to an interested party otherwise we can agree this car is not for you. I left a direct link to me. It's that easy to answer any questions. If you aren't serious enough to pick-up the phone, that's a pretty good sign I don't have to make this into a promotional exercise. It's here, it's mine, until anyone wants it more than I do.
