Hello everyone,
I have decided to sell my 1981 Biancospino White Alfa GTV 6 2.5 L. It is a hard to find hard-top (with no sun roof), which I personally prefer.
Here is a little bit of history of this car:
I purchased it in November of 2013 after it had been sitting in a garage for nearly 15 years. The clutch had given out and the original owner parked it in his garage and it sat there ever since. Having sat for so many years I did an extensive amount of work in replacing old parts, wires and hoses and rebuilding the essential parts to keep the car mechanically original. Here is the list of parts have been replaced and rebuilt:

- New fuel hoses
- New fuel injector to fuel rail hoses
- New fuel pressure regulator
- Cleaned fuel rail
- New intake runner (plenum) hoses
- New valve cover gaskets
- New spark plug well seals
- New spark plugs (NGK BPR6ES - verified correct gap)
- New timing belt
- Rebuilt hydraulic timing belt tensioner
- New v-belt
- New water pump

- New Centerline Alfa Volante leather steering wheel and hub
- Very good condition Sparco Milano 2 alcantara blue seats mounted and fully adjustable. Original seats and center console is included. I removed the center console because I prefer a simpler look.
- Removed AC unit. All parts and hoses included
All the above work has been completed in the past three years I have owned the car. I have been driving it on and off since October of 2014 putting very few miles on it.
There are still some issues with the car, which I no longer have the time to take care of. Here is the list of things it would need:
- Lately the rear main seal has been leaking oil making the car undrivable as the oil drips onto the hot exhaust leaving a trail of smoke as you drive along and fills the cabin of smoke when in a stationary position. The engine runs fine, although cold start is a little difficult at times. If the odometer is correct, and I believe it is, the engine does have nearly 165,000 miles on it, so since it needs to have the rear main seal replaced, I would take the opportunity to have the engine rebuilt so it is as good as new.
- The gearbox has never been rebuilt either and therefore suffers from 2nd gear grinding. It is very drivable as it is, you just have to engage second gear a bit slowly and double clutching helps. I have been using Swepco 201 80-90w gear oil since I have had the car to preserve the syncros as much as possible.
- The most visible issue is the crackled paint. I don't know if it has been resprayed sometime in the past, although it doesn't look like it. There is some surface rust on the exposed, scratched parts and there is a little bit of bubbling in very few spots of the car (all shown in the pictures), however it is extremely solid and will need little to no metal work.
- The passenger window winds down and up very slowly. I am certain it does not have to do with the winder motor, but with the old weather stripping which is causing more friction on the window than it should. The front window weather stripping should be replaced as wind noise is audible on the freeway.
That is the description of my 1981 Alfa GTV6. I am including a ton of photos here so that you can get a very clear idea of the condition of the car. Also I have all the paperwork for everything I have done to the car since it has been my possession (see last photos).
Please note: I have removed the oil pressure gauge a few weeks ago to see if the oil leak from the rear of the engine had something to do with this (but it doesn't), and need to reinstall it before I can start the engine for any potential buyers. I plan to do it this coming Sunday, July 3rd (although it's a PITA as the space is tight back there...).
My asking price is $6,500.00. The car is located in Burlingame, California.
My name is Igor and you can contact me at 650-798-7011.
