Verde and 164

Posting for a friend a retired Professor. PM me if interested and I will hook you up with him. His Cars in Radford, VA area near Blacksburg and VT.

The Fiat in pix is not Gene's Spider it belongs to another friend Bill. Gene's 164 next to it at an outing we had in Blacksburg.

His email copy he sent me:

Subj: Two Alfas for sale (photos attached)

Photos attached (three of Milano and one of 164 at Sal's in Blacksburg)

I have decided to sell my two Alfas and concentrate all my attention on keeping my 1979 FIAT Spider in top condition. Both cars passed state inspections 100% in June and have stickers that expire 6/2013. Since we have been out-of-town most of the Fall, I had cancelled both the registration and insurance.

Please pass this along to anyone who you think might be interested:

1) Sale Pending 1988 ALFA Milano Black Quadrifoglio 3.0 (defective 2nd gear synchronizer-OK at low RPM)

$3,000 or best offer

2) SOLD TO John in NC 1991 ALFA 164 Silver 3.0 (finish has sun exposure damage)

$1,500 or best offer

3) Both 1988 and 1991 ALFAS

$4,000 or best offer

Gene

Thanks for getting me in tocuh with your friend, Steve.

I promise, with the BB as my witness, if this deal works out, I will not sell the 164!

Timing is good because the Montreal will take longer than I had thought, to do it the right way, so want to be in an Alfa!

I've only seen car once when that picture was taken. My BB1 is way down the line in that gaggle of Spiders. Don't even remember if 5-speed or A/T.

Ed/Steve, here we go again with JP!!! Good thing JP does not go through women, like he does Alfas otherwise he would be broke. Well, let's say more broke.

If he purchases another Alfa, I promise to not let him sell it, unless its to me of course.

Erik

I have made a deal with Steve's friend! The 164 will have a new, permanent home with me!

Steve, thanks for all the support! Excited for 164 ownership again.

So from 4 cylinders to 6 cylinders to 8 cylinders to 6+8 cylinders. Sounds like you are about to meet a beautiful spider.

If that happens Ed, JP will have to sleep in one of them for sure, as I am sure his wife will put him in the proverbial dog house.
