1969 Alfa Romeo Duetto
Thanks for all the interest, guys. But I just accepted a deposit on this car and it is no longer available. Thanks for all the help.
Hello everybody, I am new here and thought I better introduce myself. My name is Stefanee, and on occassion I find interesting collectibles fall into my lap. Luckily I jumped out of the way before this one landed! Anyway, I have done minimal research, and feel fairly comfortable in saying I now have a 1969 Alpha Romeo Duetto Spider Boattail. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong. (I find that the older my teenagers get, the 'wronger' I am. LOL
I don't know much about this little girl, but she seems to have most of her parts attached, and some in her boot that still need attached. There is light rust in the obvious places, but that is par for the course in Ohio. She obviously has not had a room of her own and would definately like to find a strong, fast man to take care of her. (Or woman, she is REALLY a friendly sort of girl, if you know what I mean...)
I have a VIN from the motor, and it did match up with the VIN my guys found elsewhere, I just can't remember where. It is AR1481191
We have no key, but the gears and clutch are in working order. I also have no title, but will be happy to provide a provenence and bill of sale. (Sad story really)
I have no idea what to expect to get out of this baby, but I am sure you guys can figure that out for me.
I will entertain lookers, questions, offers, and suggestions for a week, then if any offers have been made, I will take the best one. Sound fair?
I will try to check the forum 4-5 times a day, and again before going to bed around midnight.
Thanks in advance for your help in finding her the right home.
Stef

Alphas were made by Lancia. What you have is an Alfa.

Ummmm, The part in Ohio?? Look I know I don't know anything about these cars, but if anyone could make use of this one, I don't want a fortune for it. Okay? I added a pic of it as my profile pic, and will be happy to send out the 30 or so pics to anyone who wants them. You can come see it. You can make an offer on it. Or you can just ignore my post altogether. Thats the great thing about being human. Free Will. The Right To Choose. Happy AR hunting guys!

Welcome !
You will find the BB to be a very knowledgable group willing to help all.
We also like to have some fun so don't worry !
Basic info is always helpful when selling a car. This Board is worldwide, so you could be down the block or 3,000 miles away. No way to know unless you tell us.
BTW, Alfa engine numbers NEVER match the chassis number so it would be helpfull if you could list the engine AND VIN number. Experts here will tell you exactly what you have and its value based on condition.

Thanks Randy, I just made a Flicker set of the pictures of the car. I am in NE Ohio, Alliance to be exact.
Here is a link to the photos. Flickr: pppllc's Photostream
Just a little stressed out today, sorry if I sounded whiny and rude.

Looks like a nice starting point for a restoration. I recommend you put it up for sale on ebay.

Be ready do take extensive pictures of the bottom of the car. From the side view, rust will be a big consern and will affect the value a lot.
Has the car been sitting outside for a long time ?

I would have to say yes, the car has been sitting in the yard at my house for 45 days. Before that it was in someone elses back yard, but I don't know for how long. I can probably get the boys to jack it up for me and pictures of the chassis. The most we can attest to is that we pushed in the clutch, took it out of gear, and pushed it up on the car trailer. Then reverse all that to put it in my yard. I think I will put it on ebay, I need to move in the next month or so and want to have this taken care of soon.

Ebay will be your best bet then.
Lots of people are looking for one of these so no problem selling it.
Again, lots of detailed pics and description will get you the most for her.
Thanks for posting her here first !

Rather than jack it up, I'd recommend you roll it up some ramp blocks.
If the bottom is really rusty, you don't want to have the boys misplace the jack and have an unsafe situation, or damage the car.
Best Wishes
