As Sergio Marchionne 8c competizione will debut in 2007
8c will be out in 2007 with about 500 engine horsepower!
Until summer alfa mechanics should decide which engine they will use.The options are....

1)4.25V8 of Maserati with comressor that increases 30%(520hp)the hp and 600nm torque! That option costs more!

2)4.3V8 of F430 me 490hp and 465nm of torque

3)The new 5litres v8 of the new Maserati spider with 540nm of torque!

It will have retractable roof like sl and we will see it in Frankfurt(september)

8C will be build by ferrari who the same matterial platform as enzo better than F430's aluminum platform!

Great gathering of Info, THANKs!
Just curious where that info at the bottom there came from?

Retractable roof? That seems unlikely with its current roof line, but I guess anything's possible,

Ive been studying this car way more then I probably should, a few points I would make,
A. leave the prototype wheels,
B. the front area near the headlamps and under the headlamp needs work,
C. the side meshes need to be dark again like they originally were, dont do something cool and then try to make it the same color as the paint so its less "obvious". haha. see: the Murcielago for mesh color reference..

How is it possible for people to not be blown away by this design!!!!!! This is a striking car and the kind of car that is needed to signal a dramatic and in your face return to the US market. Please don't bring me that Acura like Spider!! It looks silly in comparison.

Hmm, why do I have this sinking feeling of a Northstar V8 driving on the front wheels and the design being destroyed by way too long over-hangs... Ohh right that's the Brea but with a Austrailan GM V6... Sorry for the gloomy outlook...

Don't think so, since the Fiat Trepiłno and 8c Competizione projects were both killed about 10 days ago

Thats what I read somewhere to - maybe another thread on this forum - but I don't think it comes from the company itself. It does seem reasonable - except for the small fiat being killed.

Both projects were killed recently for GM related reasons:
- The 8c project has been killed since the model is too close to the Maserati 4200 GT. And since the break with GM the only way to sell Alfas again in the US is by using the Maserati dealerships (Alfa and Maserati are starting to work more intensely together).
- The Trepiłno project has been killed since it was based on an Opel chassis. And since Opel is owned by GM ...
