100 % Maserati.
Errr... sorry 100 % Ferrari I mean. Because all modern Maseratis are made and conceived by Ferrari.
So, twice coupé Mas' price with a more cheaper interior (pathetic dumb grey plastic).

It is fitted with the new generation of Alfa/Maserati/Ferrari V8 engine....the same engine will use F430's successor.Peak of the torque is provided in 7000-8000rpm and is better than F430's (peak over 8000rpm and as a result it looses the torque in low rpm) and also the engine weights 50kg less.New v8 is an evolution of F430's engine.8c competizione has a car body/body panel/seats made of carbon fiber and the monococ chassis is made of steel (spot welded).8c costs more than F430 sth that has never happend in nowdays maserati history.8c will be produced in max 500 unitis. Also about 15-20 units will be build for special customers that are not in the list and they will have to pay more than 250.000e to purchase one.If the sales will be good then AR will build another 500 units of 8c Spider.8c will go into US before the return of AR.Ralph lauren has already ordered one in black colour. He already owns 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 Mille Miglia.

I did an informal poll comparing the 8C and the Audi R8 on another forum and people preferred the 8C 2 to 1 over the Audi.

I know who will be getting the first 8C coupe. He has been assured that his will be the first one. He told me the exact price has NOT been settled upon yet, nor the exact price he will have to pay, but said $250,000 was in the right neighborhood. At 1400kg weight, I think the car is too damn heavy, even with 450 horsepower. I also think the price should be a LOT less, and the majority of people who buy it will do so as a collector's item, and not as an Alfa.

of course it's a collector, if people were seriously buying these cars to get the best bang for the buck in terms of performance they'd all get an ariel. No one who buys a car for the power/weight with price in mind would ever enter into this range, it's just silly.
it's all for status. it's simply so some multimillionare can drive up to another multimillionare in a lambo or something and feel like they stand out. with performance there won't be much of a difference between the two unless they're brought to the track, which is as it should be because if these cars are pushed to the point of a truely noticeable difference on the street then someone very well may die (just think of what might have happened if the enzo driver hit a minivan instead of a telephone pole).
this car's fate will be the same as many of the "real" older alfas and even the newer ferraris, people will buy them and drive them to special events and shows, for the most part they are treasured and maintained in the collector's garage... possibly some track time... it doesn't mean I will love it or want it any less, but to use the same economic reasoning that the rest of us non-millionares use when buying a car is not logical because it doesn't apply.
ps this is absolutely not meant as an attack on anyone or any lifestyle

I guess I just don't get the point of bringing the 8C to the US. All the Alfa people I know Alfa want cars to drive; not sit in garages.

i suppose it's a matter of splitting hairs.... i'm biased only because when i think of driving it's probably got more of a utilitarian aspect than those who own this type of car... to others i'm sure taking the car out to track events a few times a season plus some shows and cruises is adequate driving.
the latter is probably the better definition when the cost and/or historical importance of the car is extreme... if i ever own an 8c this is what i would probably use it for
i think, to my worst fears, i've steered the topic off course... i'll stop now

Boring gossip. This 8C is a sting that's all.
