....which is, of course , way too heavy for a SPORTS car.
Anything over 1100 kilo's is at the most, a GT.
And yes, I find it includes most of nowadays so calles sports cars.
A lotus Exige, THAT is a sports car. My '68 Bertone is a sports car.
A TVR is a sports car.
Any new ferrari, save for the REALLY exotic, is a GT.

I saw a Lotus (Toyota 1.8 powered) : 860 kg, 35 000 euros. Not cheap but quite affordable for a true sportscar.

Where did you find this figure? As I understand the car is built on a steel frame which might explain the bulk.

If I am correct it is the weight of the 400bhp concept version of the 8c. I don't know if the production lost or gained weight.

I agree weight is the enemy of a sports car. But even a very small car like the Peugeot 207 already weighs more than 1,100 kg.
The Lotus is indeed a real sportscar, but so is a Ferrari 360. And a 360 is far more sportscar than a Giulia Sprint GT.

My guess is gained weight , maybe the pricepoint will make up for this.

Young man, you seem to be very opinionated for somebody who in most liekelyhood has never driven a car more exotic then a vintage Fiat. No offence, mate, but first drive one then talk. The 430 with CF Brakes and race seats, in race mode is absolutely fantastic. The 360 CS is also one hell of a sports car.

I'm not actually sure that AR is billing the 8C as anything BUT a GT save for the name, but that's all part of the current retro thing (oxymoron?) like the 159. 1500 kg would be a very respectable weight for something like this, I think. After all it has a big V8 under the bonnet unlike the K-series or Toyota mill in the Lotus. 1500 kg and 400+ bhp? Yes please. It's about the same weight as the F430 and Murcielago.
When I first saw the car I thought it was absolutely gorgeous but I'm cooling a bit. I think I'll have to see it in the carbon and I'm sure I'll be blown away. Gotta loose those wheels though.

I don't care about "italian stuff" or whatever : I like Alfa Romeo not the country it represents. Alfa could be german, viet-cong or indian I don't mind.

The McLaren F1 weighs 1140 kg and that's a million dollar supercar. You're way off base.
