Berlinista the GT is designed to be a GT, not a sports car, take one in the same state as mine, alfa racing suspension, 18's, performance upgrades, but still not a heavily modified car, and you are MAD if you don't enjoy it!! So what if it is fwd, the car is beautifully balanced, and designed to be DRIVEN, and I've destroyed some serious rwd's through corners, including 350Z's, M3's, S2000's, etc... Never mind the way the V6 sings to me through her quad exhausts... Definately a production line, mass produced, boring, fiat like experience....?!?!?!??!?!?!?!

I know that 75, Giulia and many others have more spirit than 145/6, 155, 156, 147, 166 but those cars are still much diffrent than Toyota, Opel, Ford.

All is Fiat apart the engine : chassis, interior, etc, etc...

The usual fallacious argument. Were they racing you? A modicum of retraint on the part of drivers of those cars and the desire to showboat on yours is no indication of a car's performance.
Yeah, me too I once beat a ferrari 360 with my M3, in traffic.
An RX8 is faster through corners then a GT 3.2 An M3, Brembo braked 350 or an S2000 are on a whole new level to the GT (I owned one).

Chassis ok, but Fiat's aren't handling as well as Alfa's. Interior? What's the same? Levers form wipers? So Ferrari is also a Fiat? Some models were using levers from Fiat

Please stop just saying things and actually base your comments on some fact, the engine is alfa we agree, what makes the rest of the car fiat?

God you do look for trouble with me for no reason. I own a S2000, the GT is faster in almost every aspect except off the line acceleration, fact. M3's are very fast, but the driver has to be very good (and brave) too beat a GT through some nippy corners, the M3 does not forgive if you take it past a point of pushing, the GT does... My best friend has a brand new M3, we have tested it frequently, ultimately the M3 is substantially faster, but on an unknown road the GT driver can push a lot harder and thus be faster than the tail flapping M3.
I have beaten a Lamborguini Gallardo in an organised race on my favourite section of corners in a Honda S2000, there is a lot more to driving a car than knowing performance figures...

I dont think there'd be a single motoring magazine in the world that would agree with you on M3 vs GT.

Ive read more then a few drivers who would agree with TIM's points, on alfa boards of course but seemingly fair minded about actual real life driving and conditions and the m3 being less forgiving.. it doesnt help that a friend of mine (an experienced driver) once spun his m3 taking a dogleg right.. "too much power" he said. hah

Maybe he was experienced, but probably not any good. M3s are very benign to drive. I drove on on a very difficult track (Mt Tremblant) with traction control on and off and never even came close to loosing controll. In fact, in test when we had to deliberately brake the tail loose or try to unsettle it in a corner by hard braking, it was almost impossible. That M rear diff is magic.
If your friend thinks 340hp is too much power, he should definetly stick with 4 cylinder FWD cars.

Or just leaving the traction control button alone.

hehe. ok andretti and androopy. having a lot of power means nothing if not in a proper car.. and bytheway he owns and drives a porsche 996 turbo.. heh. so i guess that ruins both of your "theories".

So he auto-terminates himself : how can you drive a Porsche (which it's doubtful unless it's 1/24 scaled...) and pretend about Fiat GT superior roadholding ? it's total ignorance or just a troll.
This is so ridiculous (bis repetita) !
