Recaro Seats Installed

I have had issues with the stock seats in my 2015 4C Launch Edition since day one. Problem Solved!! I now have Recaro Seats. I (we) as in my wife, choose Specialist M model Recaro's. I wanted a seat that I (we) could sit in comfortably for 3 plus hours. These seats are amazing. Great support, Total Comfort and actually Very good at Side support. The Team at Griffin Motorwerks in Berkeley, Ca made this Happen. Griffin is the Recaro Seat Distrubutor for this Area. They also run a Full Service Shop. I am now able to Enjoy the Long weekend trips that we regularly take. No More stopping every hour or so.

Nice. Do they have more adjustments or more range than the stock seats?

Hey Norton

Are you enjoying your 4C? I guess you are, since you want to go in three hours drives in it.

I'm kind of distressed by the large number of low mileage 4C's I see on eBay. Did these people not like the 4C or are they the type that gets the new IT car every year?

Anyway if you would, give us your view of the 4C ownership experience.

Bye

Yes and no. The Front to Back is the same. The Backs recline way more, Depending on where the seat is front to Back. I am moving the seat forward about 4 "Clicks" on the Tracks and am able to Get a Much more comfortable Position, for me, than stock. Plus when I am in my preferred position, I can see the Top the instrument cluster. I Do Have the seat Height at what is the Top Height for the Stock Seats.

I think there are a couple of factors here:

1) A number of people bought the 4C thinking it would be a fun weekend car, without fully understanding how hardcore it is. The character if very different than the "competition" i.e. Cayman/Boxter and Audi TT. Much less creature comforts and luggage room. In my opinion way more fun and engaging than the others while you're driving hard but less satisfying when you're tooling around town. That difference may have taken a while to set in for some people. It's not for everyone and for quite a while no test drives were allowed so you had to hope you would like the car.

2) As you describe some people need to have the latest and greatest and only keep cars a short while.

3) I bet some early 4Cs were bought as speculative investments.

Hello Milan Guy. I (we) are having a Great time with our 4C. Two Issues that I think are the reason behind so Many 4C's with low Miles. Seats that are Just plain uncomfortable. Our Fist Trip in the 4C was a challenge. we stopped every hour or so to Deal with the seat issue, hence the Recaro swap. These seats are the exact opposite. Second, the Factory "Race Exhaust" has a very up pleasant Drone at Freeway speeds, say 65-75 plus. So I swap out the Exhaust to a Capristo System that has mufflers and is programmable, there is another post on this Forum about the Exhaust. No Drone, More Power and cool looks. So with some effort, The two issues that I think are the cause of Low Miles on many 4C's have solutions.

Agreed with all of your statements. I (we) didTest drive the 4C. I knew at the time the seats would need to be replaced. I figured that in to my decision. The Exhaust Drone was not as noticeable at the time.
