The Alfa Romeo 4C just launched in North America and already the brand is already preparing an even hotter version.

Our spy photographers managed to grab some shots of a prototype for the 4C Quadrifoglio Verde, a sportier version of the Italian car. This version is expected to include a bump in horsepower, unique suspension tuning and improved brakes. The standard 4C uses a 1.75-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 237 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.

In the photos, we can see new air intakes which have been installed onto the car. The first set is just beside the headlights while the second set is just behind the doors, both of which are meant to funnel air onto the brakes for additional cooling. A small spoiler on the trunk completes the visual changes present on this prototype.

The life cycle for the 4C in America is slated to be roughly four or five years and Alfa Romeo has already said that we can expect annual updates throughout its life cycle to keep it exciting and fresh.

Tabloid news, "Because Inquiring Minds Want to Know"

Yet another hoax, rumor, or myth. The car is a Euro spec Launch Edition. The vent behind the door is common to all 4C's. The black stuff below that vent is tape to protect the paint during the test drive. The vents in the front are Launch Edition vents. The spoiler is standard on the LE and an option on the SE (Standard Edition).

Now, that's only the visual parts that we can see. Yes, that can all be used on a CE (Cloverleaf Edition), but, I would like bigger vents and nicer looking vents. Those look like an after thought, not a first plan.

Does it really have more power? Is the suspension really different? Kind of hard to tell by looking at a snapshot.

And one final note of disbelief: If Alfa Romeo has been released here in the USA, how come I don't have my 4C yet?

Why is it that only AutoGuide knows about these things? Where was the big party and flashy press release?

Did you notice the link at the bottom of the article:
"Sergio's mother was an alien, and his real father was Captain Kirk"
Interesting read. Explains a lot.
Not sure why all the big guys missed that one, either.
