Vinnie:

Try Arizona Powdercoat on Washington Street just east of the 202 (or just west of the Tempe border if you want to look at it that way). Lots of us have had work done there and they do a good job for a fair price. A bit of a PITA to get there now with all the Light Rail construction going on.

Yeah, that is a cool little drive that we do as a club once a year. Too bad you can usually only do it at about 20 mph due to the other traffic. There is a club drive on Saturday that should be fun if you can make it (I will miss it due to another commitment):

VULTURE MINE/WICKENBURG/YARNELL TOUR
Saturday November 12, 2005

The itinerary will start at The McDonald’s on Deer Valley road just east of I-17 at with an 8:30 departure for the Wickenburg and the Vulture Mine. The mine is reported to have produced over $200 million dollars in gold. When you see its current condition you will wonder what the money was spent on – it wasn’t the mine facilities! We will then climb up one of Arizona’s most fun sports car roads to Yarnell where we will have lunch. Joe has arranged a special surprise with lunch! After lunch we will recharge our batteries (the Alfisti, not the Alfas) at St Joseph’s Retreat, a lovely hidden spot in Yarnell’s beautiful granite boulders. We retrace our route (it looks entirely different from the opposite direction) and the road down Yarnell Hill is even better than the road up. After a sweet treat in Wickenburg we will travel to New Waddell Dam Visitors Center at Lake Pleasant where you will see everything from gila monsters and rattlesnakes to the water you will shower in when you get home. It will be a lot of fun. You won’t want to miss this trip!
