OK, here's another suggesiton for a route.
Sunday - Carmel Valley with a BBQ.
Monday - Drive like crazy to get into Oregon, maybe Eugene.
Tuesday - through Portland, right turn up the Columbia River Valley. Stop at The Dalles
Wednesday - north through Yakima and do some wine tasting along I82. Then I90 over the hill. End up at Bellview late afternoon.
Mileage about 1,400 miles.
