It's a riot to drive, and is in excellent condition, save for these engine/tranny issues. There is an '84 Sprint (true 'Sud) in the Northeast (street legal in Mass), and it's rumored that there are a couple of true 'Suds in Wisconsin (track cars). If I can get the parts in time to complete the engine and tranny work, I will be driving it down to Monterey this August for the Concorso Italiano, which this year is featuring Alfa Romeos.
Hi Doug,

I remember your excellent Sud Sprint selling at the South Seattle Auto Auction a few years ago. I checked it out very carefully and I almost bought it, but the paperwork was very "sketchy". Had I known back then what I know now, I would have bought the car in a heartbeat.
There are a few companies in Germany selling Sud parts:
http://www.servizio-alfisti.de/
is one of them. If you want me to, I can find other companies, too.
My 79 Sud Giardinetta is being restored in Germany right now and so far we have not had any problems yet finding the parts.
I have a Sud 5m in original condition with 40.000 km and it still has the original paint and interior. It's titled in WA state.
I displayed it at the concorso italiano in Monterey in 2002 and 2003.
Last year I displayed my Alfa 90.

Best regards from Oceanside, CA
