OK --
Since we're on the subject of '67 Super oil systems, I need some help before the thaw and I take mine out of storage.
When I first start it up, the oil pressure is fine, sits right at 55 psi. But, as it warms up, the pressure decreases. When fully warmed up, I have to get it to 3000 rpm and above, for it to barely get to 35 psi, if that far. And the guage goes to 0 (!!). It pulls ok to redline (I don't do that often), and does not overheat. But before I put it away, I noticed a slight rhythmic knock that I know is not the timing chain.
A buddy here who knows Alfas drove it and suggested the crank may be missing a plug or two (?). I don't believe it's the sender, but am wondering if I have the wrong pump, as described above.
Some history: the car has been completely renewed with the exception of minor cosmetics, has a 1750 with Webers and I'm running 20W50 oil in it.
Any ideas? Thanks.
