Hey Patrick. I've just spent the last 50 mins skimming through your restoration thread. What a fantastic job you've done and an inspiration for the rest of us! When I have a less hetic day at work, I'll read it in more detail. A truly excellent account!
I've just purchased the car from a restoration garage. In 2005 the owner sent the car for restoration (some panels, new sills, floor, boot floor etc), however died shortly afterwards. The garage have stored the car since whilst his partner considered her position and has only recently (last week) decided to part with it rather then continue with the work. I must have been in the right place at the right time as was chatting to a guy I'd just met at a party expressing my interest in Giulias, who turned out to be the garage owner who needs the space in his garage back urgently!
He had it running last year and is only missing the 2 front wing lowers, sills and the rear valance. Everything else (trim, seats, exhaust) is in boxes and is reportedly 100% complete (still to be collected by me) so I've no idea how it goes back together, which is one of the reasons I found your post so interesting. I'm still awaiting all the paperwork so can let you know more shortly.
I've stored the car in another garage at the moment as I'm just finishing up a 1954 Triumph TR2, however will start work on it within the month. Let you know how it goes!
