The modification required for Time Trial is a 5 or 6 point DOT approved harness. We can not wave this. Sh-t happens (as I can bear testament ) and safety comes first. Natural fiber clothes are OK.
It's pretty easy to set up a snap in system. In my Passat wagon I replaced the front and rear seat belt bolts with eye bolts for the front waist and rear shoulder harness (angle was within acceptable limits). Pull back the floor mat and drill a hole for the submarine (use a heated awl or nail set to melt a hole through the carpet fibers before drilling).
Fred Crow (Crow Enterprises in Fullerton) is pretty reasonable (well under $200) and will supply the hardware and, if necessary, custom size the belts. His sewing shop is on the premises.

Hope to see you there. A one mile course is a great equalizer for my 80bhp.
