I tried a similar dash cover I got from Italy, it was ok, but not perfect. So I ended up having my upholster do it and I think it came out great–see pic–thats me smiling.

It would be best if you repainted at least the dash when you have the old dash top off, if you're doing a piecemeal restoration. The better way would be to wait until you paint the entire car.
